Why the dive in Obama's approval rating?

you just have to look at history to see the what libs have done to this country and what type of country they want. whether it be speaches or laws passed or the type of support they've given to the world, they see America as the problem, not the solution.

I don't think liberals see America as the problem, they just don't see us as the end-all solution to everything.

How is this true when they believe the government should provide solutions to the American public's problems?

the obama paradigm seems to be that of my students. "if you mess up, or cant do right then blame it on someone else, and then expect another someone else to fix it for you,"

Again, I'm not exactly what you would consider a liberal, but most that are Dems, on another message board I read, believe that we should help our own citizens before we help other countries citizens.

Right............................. you believe the founders fought for the freedom to empower the government to take money from citizens to spend on what the government deems necessary for the public???????

What about the belief that all Americans are free and able to help themselves.

I think we spend too much money on foreign aide but when you are a beacon to the world it never hurts to help those who cannot help themselves, like people who live in countries where the government is unable to do so.

The difference here in America is that there is a structure in place to keep people from falling through the cracks. It works very well if you are disciplined and truly want to better yourself.

We already do that. It's called a police, fire dept., and a military. All of these take taxpayer money, and spend it on what the government deems necessary for the public.

It is not the role of government, it is the failure of churches and the local community!

Keep the government out of it!

Why do you want to give up your freedom to the government?

Right, every thing they are supposed to do.

What about the other 80% the government spends on?

Police and fire departments as well as the military are legitimate under the constitution. These are things needed for the safety of the people, needs not wants.

But, the thing is, people do fall through the cracks. I mean, I'd like to have foreign aid. As rich and prosperous as we are, we do need to give money to other nations.

However, we give so much money, that I think it hinders our ability to help the American people. I realize that it's only a small part of our budget, but it is some money we could use to better our country.

people on the right agree with you in that regard, however, we don't think that raising taxes on one group while eliminating the tax burden on another is the proper way of "helping".

Tax cuts = good. I've said that ever since I've got on here. But, I think there should be equal taxation, and tax cuts, not one extreme gets the biggest breaks, while another gets hit with more taxes.

An infrastructure for the common goal of protection and opportunity makes sense. By opportunity I mean the opportunity to travel on decent roads, gain an education, and trade across state boundries. There is a big difference in those things and the agenda of redestributing the results of those opportunities.

Right why does the government need 20-50% of incomes?

I never said I wanted to give up my freedom to the govt. I said, we needed to help out those in our country, before we help out those in others. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe, I want better schools. Or better armour for our military.

With the structure that is in place no one should fall through the cracks unless they don't have the discipline, don't have the desire, or are mentally incapable of the previous two. If they are mentally incapable there are places for them. Otherwise they fell through the cracks of their own accord and will stay that way until they decide to do differently.
