Why does everyone feel that Pearl is the only coach with passion and drive.

The right hire is all it will take to bring excitement....so IT does not have to be Wade Ball or Buzz Ball, not at all.

It's about history...when we come out of a bad war....the US just won't go there again....oh crap, nm.

We all know bruce is gone. I unlike many of bruce's followers have been a vol fan since i was a kid with wade houston. Sure I loved pearl as did we all when we were in elite 8 and beating top teams. But I will continue to be a vol long after this and want a great coach just like everyone else. And back to my comment about the 7000 in the arena next year. I will be one of those there every game supporting my vols. just saying

Glad you will be, but I think you underestimate the fan base. Pearl might've brought people, but winning will keep them there.

Some posters on here were called nega-Vols when they pointed out the shortcomings of Bruce Pearl, yet the same people aren't complemented for their fandom when they point out the Pearlite crowd who refuses to come back aren't real UT fans.

God the lack of thinking is mind boggling.

The UT Brass is reaping the storm they have sown with all the public statements of support for Bruce Pearl made over the last several months. We would've been far better off maintaining a neutral public position with an announcement that we would be conducted a review of the program to be concluded at the close of the season. And it is the clumsy manner of UTAD in handling this entire situation that will make difficult for us to hire a top-line head coach.

Difficult...but not impossible.

The only question is how much is this Athletic Department willing to pay to get a quality head coach to look past the Gomer whom he would nominally report to.

Money talks. All else walks. Tennessee brings the bank...and a few promises as it relates to Hammy...and we can get the kind of coach we're all wanting to replace Pearl.

A big-time outlay would be worthwhile. This program made $14 million last year. Bust out the Chases and let's keep things rolling.

1,3,4,6 are completely false.

1) Your arena is big but it's old and lacks other new age/NBA technology. Practice facilities are state of the art but 40 universities have similar practice arrangements.

3) consistent winner? 15 losses this year bruh. You've made 1 elite eight and no SEC crowns.

4) foothold in Atlanta recruiting? You just fired your entire staff and gave the one cheater a bonus while screwing the rest. Forbes had ties to ATL but unless you're talking about Dooley, you're out of your mind

6) the university isn't compelled to make some big hire. They're compelled to hire someone that can stay out of trouble and maybe win a few games.

You won the C-USA...that's so impressive. Memphis has way more 4 and 5 stars than any other team in TN and still suffered the same fate as UT and Vandy - first round exits.

Our final two weeks we started 4 true freshmen and a D3 transfer. I'm proud of our championship. One day you'll get to experience that feeling, maybe.
