Nope. Arizona State could move up a few spots, but almost certainly won't be put above Bama.
From Ariz St's perspective, this doesn't matter much. The only thing that matters to them is #8 SMU vs #17 Clemson. If Clemson wins, Arizona State gets a first round bye as one of the four top-ranked conference champs. Huge diference, being the #4 seed vs the #12 seed.
From our perspective, it doesn't matter much, either. Ariz St can't knock Bama out of the playoffs, and they certainly won't affect us.
Go Vols!
Don't agree with this completely. If Oregon blows out Ped U, I think they drop below usI don’t think ASU jumps us.
Manuel was on College Gameday this morning and said again that a team not playing this weekend couldn’t jump another team not playing this weekend, which means the Vols cannot pass ND or OSU, and we can’t be passed by Indiana or Alabama.
If Georgia wins, they and Texas will switch places.
If Penn State wins, they and Oregon will switch places.
Our one and only hope of getting a home game is if Georgia loses and the committee decides to drop them two spots instead of one.
While yes they are very similar, the release last week by the committee laid the foundation for the playoffs. The field is practically set. A few teams can move up and down and only 1 team can fall out. Bama. Clemson can jump in, but won't be any higher than 12 (in the bracket) after Arizona State destroyed Iowa State.
I dont know how else to explain it anymore so I'm out on this conversation. Clemson has 3 losses and zero top 25 wins. They are not jumping Arizona State period. They won't get a bye, if they make the playoffs they will sneak into the last spot. Even if they win 70-0. 3 losses killed them, regardless of "data points". They are playing for the last playoff spot, that's it.That’s not what they said. They said teams that aren’t playing are essentially stuck. Teams that are playing could move because they would have new “data points” to consider. Who knows if they come up with “data points” to shift Clemson up a few spots.

Exactly. That's all everyone wants to see. You can't allow one team to get away with it while the other is held to a different standard.Texas held on them plays, the problem is they have missed a few holds on Georgia. They need to go both ways, Texas D is making even more penetration but not getting the holding call love that Georgia is.
