Will Ferguson get snaps against S Alabama?

First off...i am not saying i wish for Fergy to start, but woud love to see him or Dobbs in the 4th quarter for mopup duty. Peterman did not show that he is even backup material..no sense in keeping him 2nd string....no one could have done any worse than he did against UF....Worely however, showed a lot of progression and if he continues to improve he could be very servceabe by the UGA game...however, i would like o see one of the freshman play and become at least the backup unless they look all world of course.

yes IF,

the game is along the lines of the first two and Tennessee has control he will get reps in 4th quarter.

If game is close then Worley will take it the entire time.

If Ferguson plays, expect very basic play calls as he has not worked on Tennessee system since August. Very limited knowledge wise. Play calls will depend on those he can get comfortable with this week. Reps this week will be limited as well. He will be able to get a lot more work after Georgia game during the off week.

No.

If last week (9/21) taught us anything, we need live action work. Let this awful run game get going. The Oline and RBs need a fire under them. Also Worley needs the most live action work with recievers possible. Open up some passing game and lets get the QB and WRs on the same page.

SMH....I don't get it. We are averaging 200 yards per game and 5.0 yards per carry. That's better than we have done since 2000!

I have to admit that this was done against WKU, Austin Peay, and even Oregon, and that we struggled a bit against Florida.

But it's misleading IMO....our tailbacks only attempted 17 runs against Florida, and they averaged about 3.3 yards per carry on those...which is about "average" for a running back. Not "awful"...average. I submit that if Peterson had not turned the ball over FOUR STRAIGHT TIMES, we might have established more of a rythm in the first half. In the second half, we got to a point where we pretty much had to throw after the first series or two...but note that on that first series with the FG, we ran the ball well.

I really don't understand the complaints about our run game. It could be BETTER, no doubt, but 200 yards per game is pretty dam good, even against subpar competition. NUMBERS DON'T LIE.

I think that you and others are still having flashbacks to 2011 when we actually only averaged NINETY YARDS PER GAME. It's not 2011 anymore!! We have an above average to good run game!! It's not "awful"!

Some math for you....200 >>>> 90. (if you failed third grade math, I guess you won't get that).

How some fans and posters can seperate themselves from FACTS just amazes me.

Official depth chart is out and both of the freshmen are bracketed as Worley's backup. You'll see one of them on Saturday.

Ferguson will see the field.

He will go in and play against S. Alabama's mop-up duty.

Then everyone will talk about how awesome he played against the 3rd stringers from a low-tier team that had 2 wins last year.

Then everyone will want him to start.

I'd rather see that than a backup come in and play the way Peterman did against Austin Peay. I can't believe that that got the start in the Swamp.

Ainge said today that the freshman will get some looks this year. I don't remember exactly how he put it but it was something like "the feeling around the team is that the freshman will get some looks in the remainder of this year."

TFWIW as usual.

If we get up by a pretty good margin, i would think he would see some time in case we need him next week.
What are you talking about if we get up , you better hope we dont get down by28, this will not be easy, this week is where the coaching comes in to play, they got to coach the players up are we will get our azz kicked by this team.:eek:hmy:

All i want to know is has coach come out and said if he is going to redshirt the freshman or not, if one of them could throw the damn ball 12 yards straight i would see what he could do, i have never seen the QB play this bad in 43 years as fan if we lay a egg this week it will get bad, i look around the country and see other true freshman playing, but i quess coach knows if they are ready or not i trust in the coaching staff.

So you can use commas... but no periods?!?!

Unless this game is just a blow out, Worley and the starters need to stay in the game to work the kinks out. Maybe trot Ferguson or Dobbs out late in the 4th.

I would like to see Fergusan start to see what he can do with the 1st team offense. Worley is at best a 2nd team SEC QB. Time for the next chapter...

When in the game did Peterman break his thumb? I know it was before that last pic that flubbed out. I am just wondering how much of his play (mistakes) were influenced by the injury.

Definately give Ferg snaps in the game this week and possibly Dobbs too. Hopefully they can get in a quarter of play each.

What has he been doing for a month if he's not learning this system?

Peterman did the same against AP & WKU, except he was horrible. Fans still wanted to start him. Not a word this week.

If Peterman is injured, then Ferg will get some mop up duty if there is any mop up duty for him to have. I believe I would keep Worley in as long as possible no matter what the score is to build confidence in him and timing with the receivers. They both need all the playing time they can get together. IMO

it's a little scary to think about but South Alabama is much improved from last year. They beat Western Kentucky this year. And I know we drilled them, however without all the turnovers I think we win that game by less than 21 points. But turnovers seems to be a common theme from this years defense so far, so I'll take it. But like I said I just hope there is mop up time in this game for him to get some meaningful snaps, and if he does well I will be pretty optimistic as South Alabama is much improved from last year it seems.

And they lost to FCS Southern Utah...
