If you believe the "hype" so to speak, those 5 should be pretty talented...and from everything i've heard, Hancock is pretty special. Slick Shelly...haven't heard much about him lately...heard his name mentioned some last year, but has been a no show this season. We'll see what CTT is made of next year. He'll have the job of getting ready those guys that have been riding the pine. Also curious to see if he can get the 1-3 top WRs we have coming in.
He had 2 SRs and an NFL 4th yr JR to work with this year.
1. Taylor
2. Rogers
3. Briscoe
4. Shelley
5. Grimes
6. Hancock
7. Vinson
I for one want him to. We could be sick on offense next year. But I dont think he comes back because next season could hurt his draft status. Think about it. Defenses this year couldnt really double team him because they also had to worry about Swain and Bret Smith. Next year, he would catch alot of double teams. Who else is a threat? Lucas Taylor? Josh Briscoe? I think Hancock will eventually be a stud but he wont come in next season and lead the SEC in recieving. The tight ends could help out alot but we only have one deep threat and proven WR. I think his numbers would drop and his status would also. I think the pro scout could see that, but still. I think he's gone but I will keep my fingers crossed that he's with Ainge next year.

Vinson, if you believe the recruiting stuff, has a TON of potential.
in any event, all of them will be getting plenty of work in the off season i'm sure. i'm not going to say we're set at WR, but it doesn't appear that the talent drop off is all that far. Experience drop off is.
your're right about CTT...let's see how he does now....
Word. He's about to break the single season yardage record. There's not that much left for him to prove.
That being said though, wha WR's are going to be going out? Or expected to go out? I know of Calvin Johnson, Jayson Swain(duh) Doucett, and Smardzjia....Who else? If he wants the BIG money he'll stay next year, kick some tail and go out next year and be first round...But what was said earlier in this thread....2nd round money is still a lot of money
I would say he falls in the 6-10 range in that list...Johnson, Baker, and Smardzjia are all playmakers.....Ted Gin has world class speed.....I'd say he's in the bottom half of that list but with a good combine who knows?1. Calvin Johnson JR
2. Dallas Baker
3. Dwayne Jarrett
4. Jeff Smardzija
5. Ted Ginn JR
6. Anthony Gonzalez
7. Aundrae Allison
8. Dwayne Bowe
9. Steve Smith
...and the list goes on. The question is, how far can Meachem move up the board in a good workout? It's sometimes a gamble because you have to declare before you get to that point. There are a lot of pretty good WRs out there.
You are correct. For someone with a child to pass up financial security to entertain the fans in Knoxville would be asinine. The smart thing for Meachem to do is sign an agent, drop his courses, and begin training for the combine upon the completion of our bowl game. Any other course of action would be reckless.
