Will Muschamp to UF

Your crazy if Petrino is less scary than Muschamp. Look what he did at Louiseville, and Arkansas in just 3 years. What would he do with Florida talent?

Petrino can't recruit for ****. Not sure why you don't think Muschamp can coach either. He is Saban's number 1 defensive coach for a reason.

I am impressed with how fast UF hired someone. This will help with recruiting and having Meyer stick around for the bowl game will also ease the transition. Something UT didn't have the luxury of last year and also Dooley had three weeks until NSD.

UF's D recruits must really like this hire.

However, the O recruits who are signing up to play in a spread offense should be concerned. So should the current players.

This will be interesting. I am just glad it's not Tennessee.

Dude. I think my grandma can recruit at Florida...

Not sure if this is a reply to me, but Saban has always tried to get Muschamp as his DC. Much like he always tried to get Fisher as his OC.

It was. It sounded like you were saying he currently is. I mean that is an opinion I guess. He had Will as DC for awhile. I don't think he is a horrible coach by any means. Not sure how he will do as a head coach , but I am surprised at the hire. For Florida anyway. Might turn out to be the best thing ever , or it might fail. It wil be interesting to see how it goes.

If Muschamp surrounds himself with a competent staff that can coach and continue to recruit at the previous coaches level, UF will continue to do well after the 1st year in transition phase.

Like with any coaching change, there will be some defections and transfers. Some will decommit (due to changing the scheme). There is still time to salvage this years recruiting class but there will be some losses naturally.

Only Harbaugh would have scared me more, but I knew he wasn't going there. I would have rather they gotten Stoops, Mullen, Strong or Petrino.

I have to strongly disagree with you. There is no such thing as defense in the big 12. Mullen, strong, or petrino would still have Florida a contender for the east every year. Muschamp will have Florida slipping back into a second tier team in the sec.

Muschamp was at Texas for three years and had a top 10 defense twice. This year with an offense that wasn't in the top 100 he still had a top 20 defense.

texas had him as HC in waiting i think that says alot

dont understand why its a bad hire

I believe TX officially removed the head coach in waiting tag last year. TX still claimed Muschamp would be next HC, but there was no quarantee especially if next year was also bad.

I think they removed the title because they're was a recruiting rule change for HC's in waiting.

Muschamp never lost his title. Ever. It was never in question. Nor has Mack Brown's job status been in question. Mack Brown isn't ready to retire and Muschamp had an opportunity to coach an elite program and he took it. Muschamp is a fabulous recruiter and quite possibly the best D coordinator in college football. So many Tennessee fans wanted him year ago and he said no. Now suddenly he's a bad hire for Florida. Hilarious.
