Sorry Bumi. I missed it. I don't know the details but something happened. I'm from Rome, GA where Will is from. Talked to Pat, his brother, and he can't believe it. Trey Burton was my source. As of Thursday night, Gruden was the coach. That's what it is. Sorry for the wrong info.

Its been said that cowbell wasn't going to let money be the reason he left, and his family is really happy there.

I thought he was just gameplaying until the deal was done. Wow. I can't believe he would pass up the Gators, for the prestige, facilities and recruiting as much as money. I just wonder if he wasn't their top choice.

I wonder what Florida offered Muschamp that we didn't that made him decide to go to the swamp?

Well, lets see. Last year January was terrible timing to hire a head coach and Texas was just coming off a national championship run.

This year, Texas went 5-7 and the Florida job opened in early December.

You do the math.

Mullen would have paid Florida his first years salary to get the job. He was never offered the job, plain and simple.

I have to believe that's true. Nobody sane would choose Starkville over Gainesville.

Wonder if he'll be offered Miami?

Here is the skinny. Florida called Will Muschamp 20 minutes after Urban retired. It was a done deal. No one knew of this even his brother Pat.

Agreed. The crappy timing and state of the Tennessee program compared to Texas was just too scary. Those burning mattresses were a bit intimidating, too.

I don't know that he would have passed it up, just stuff I heard over the airwaves.

Much rather it be Muschamp than Mullen. This still leaves Florida with a glaring hole at OC, which has been the downfall of their program the last two years. He'll save their recruiting but I doubt he lasts more than 4 years.

Not having to go all over the country for recruiting.

Agree, I mean Florida is like a country itself when it comes to Recruiting and I really didnt expect Foley to go after an Assistant coach I thought he was going after a Head Coach.
