Will Rand Paul plunge the world into catastrophic depression?

i've never heard beck say he thinks he's balanced. nor have I seen any admission by msnbc that their news coverage is liberal. you dont' see the difference between the commentators and the actual news?

Yes, I do see the difference. Many do not see the difference. News is news, commentators have shows with their slant on things. Sorry, I just see Beck as a loon. JMO. He is a member of a religious cult IMO. I do not see Mormonism as a legit Christian faith. These are my opinions. Just as a disclaimer, he and anyone else has every right to practice the Mormon faith. I have read the book of Mormon. Wasn't impressed. I have a hard time buying into the fact that Joe Smith was the ONLY guy that could translate GOLDEN tablets?

Fox always has, or at least invites someone, from each side to be there to debate. What else do you want them to do?
Fox has made Bob Beckel(sp) and several other libs, famous.

I don't want them to do anything. I wasn't bashing Fox, just saying that I don't prefer them or agree with their "Fair and Balanced" schtick. That's all. I have seen the liberals that they invite.... Hannity's old show was a joke of an attempt to be balanced. The show should have read
HANNITYand Colmes.

olberman is just as much of a nutjob. not seeng your point.

Not saying he isn't. My point is, I felt that you guys were saying that he claims to be unbiased. I have heard him admit that he wasn't unbiased. That's all. Maybe I misinterpreted the conversation. If so, my apologies.

olbermann has admitted it openly? link?

I don't know that he admitted that MSNBC had a liberal slant, but I remember him giving an interview to Playboy where he openly acknowledged his own bias.

Then he said immigrants should learn damn English. It was pretty funny.

Is it Fox's fault that Colmes is a huge puss and could not hold his own?
I am not saying that Fox is fair, but they do a much better job of being balanced than any of the left shows do.

I agree with him on the English point. I find Olbermann funny at times.

Matthews has always been a hack. Olbermann is smart, but a vicious prick.

Rand Paul refers to being enslaved to debt and that the country cannot spend more than it takes in.

The only way that the country can service its debt, and we are scheduled to need to deal with it around March, is to legislatively raise the debt ceiling. Even very conservative Senators have recognized this but have voted to raise it.

This country has never defaulted on its debt.

But Rand Paul speaks in terms suggesting he might individually filibuster the act to raise the ceiling. If he does, when we hit midnight on that day, we will default.

And if that happens you can have all the gold coins and seeds you want from Glenn Beck. Won't help.

Fallacy of limited alternatives.

There are three choices though I am not surprised that you see only two or maybe even only one.

You can a) raise the debt ceiling, b) try to raise taxes to cover the shortfall, or c) make a serious and binding deal to make real spending cuts.

You really are blind sometimes. He is using this issue to FORCE a serious debate on balancing the budget. He deserves a hearty salute.

Beck proudly declares his partisanship. He believes in going back to the US Constitution and rebuilding by legitimate, rule of law means from there. So do I.

He is kinda vicious. I am very sarcastic, and appreciate someone who has it down to an art form. Keith is a sarcasm artist. Don't agree with everything he says, but it cracks me up.

Olbermann has apparently given up his "worst person..." segment in an effort to be a kinder and gentler douchebag.

Beck believes in Mt. Dew and Cheetos!!!!!!:) No offense, but Beck believes in what will get him the biggest bang and the biggest bucks, IMO.

Yeah, read about that. Hey, its a step. The tone in the nation needs to calm down on both sides for anything constructive to happen. I'm sure the bloodletting will commence again soon.

Tales of Olbermann's genius appear wildly exaggerated.

Just because one disagrees with someone doesn't automatically make that person an idiot. Olbermann is smart. I don't agree with everything he says, but his momma didn't raise no dummy...... I can't stand LImbaugh. Cancerous partisan hack IMO, but he is 'wicked smart'.

I don't think he's an idiot. I don't think he's the genius that I keep hearing about here.

I am of the opinion that the hard left AND hard right doesn't sell. Look at yesterday's result an exit opinion polling. Almost equal negative opinions of BOTH parties. The Demos were in power and felt the wrath of a nervous public over JOBS. Same happened in the 06 & 08 elections. Only difference was the Repubs were in charge. Outside the 20-25% that makes up each base, people in the middle hate both parties fairly equally.

the tea party had a higher percentage of voters than the democrats as a whole and beck and limbaugh are currently making north of $20 mil a year. looks like hard right sells ok.

Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter et al think you've lost your mind.

Olbermann is trying hard. Ted Rall tries hard. Many others push, but the hard left clientele just isn't very large.
