Will the Religious Right Rally Behind Biden?

He is, after all, God's choice. That is what they told me last time. They supported Trump because he was God's choice. He was not a perfect man, but he was God's choice to lead America...
He's certainly the most religious president in a while.

Dean at Virginia university resigns after alleged Facebook post calling Biden voters 'anti-American' and 'anti-Christian'

Paul Ewell, the now former dean of the Virginia Wesleyan University Global Campus, resigned from both his deanship and his faculty post after allegedly writing a Facebook post on his since-deleted account that referred to voters for President-elect Joe Biden as "anti-American" and "anti-Christian."

When asked for additional comment and whether he stood by his words in the post, Ewell told CNN in an email he "apologized profusely" and had "nothing left to add." Ewell did not acknowledge CNN's inquiry as to whether his resignation from VWU came in response to the post.

Ewell's alleged post, a screenshot of which was originally reported in The Virginian-Pilot newspaper, implored any Facebook friends who may have voted for Biden or are Democrats to unfriend him on the social media platform. CNN has not independently seen or verified the post.

"If you were ignorant, anti-American, and anti-Christian enough to vote for Biden, I really don't want to be your social friend on social media," the alleged post said. "I wouldn't hang out with you in real life, I don't want to hang out with you virtually either. You have corrupted the election. You have corrupted our youth. You have corrupted our country. I have standards and you don't meet them. Please remove yourself."

In fairness, I have seen this on both sides during the past 4 years. For me it is the biggest disappointment of the Trump years is that now political adversaries have become mortal enemies unable to even discuss the issues. I am not completely blaming Trump, but he was our first social media president who always behaves as if he is a keyboard warrior, lobbing insults at each perceived slight. All in all we are becoming dumber as a nation because we rarely associate with anyone outside our think tank. It produces inbred thinking and a lack of common sense.

Biden needs to bring a bigger bible for a photo op in front of a church. And he should hold it right side up. That’ll make those evangelicals swoon. Pull Jerry Falwell Jr. away from watching his wife get railed by some other 20 year old and put him in your cabinet Joe. Just make sure he’s got plenty of booze.

I've often wondered about staunch "religious" people and their support of Trump considering I could probably count on one hand the number of times he's been to church or opened a Bible in 40 years. "Two Corinthians". Really? And using a TV evangelist as a "spiritual advisor". Seems a tad hypocritical to me to support someone with such opposite views as them when it comes to morality and character. Of course I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Some of the most hypocritical people I've met are in the church pews every Sunday morning. Many of them don't act the same Monday through Saturday. I assume the Bible they use to judge Trump is of the multiple choice variety.

There was a lengthy thread on this very forum that delved into this issue with Trump. I am curious as to whether they blindly back God's pick this time around.
well, they didn't back President Obama when he was God's choice. Maybe because God chose a Black man twice? I don't know. God chose an mean spirited adulterer last time.

Rather than posting something so general as to be worthless, copy/paste the quote you're challenging and then we can discuss. I have no idea where this is coming from.

The religious right cares a lot more about a candidate's abortion stance than "God's Choice", whatever that means.

It was about abortion and patriarchy with a sprinkle slaveholder religion.

Biden is the devil. God is a xenophobic, racist, Qanon backing Republican after all.

It is funny that the voting company is named “Dominion.” Maybe God changed all those votes.
You’re on to something here. Armageddon has to be ushered in some how.

God did allow harris to become president, as He allowed Hitler to rule germany. God does bring leaders to rule as a judgement towards those people. So Christians should pray for their leaders, even communist leaders. It doesn't mean we support her policies.

Yes. It’s more of the cracker culture. It’s a bad look and embarrassing how many people of faith fell for this.

Regarding meeting hypocrites in church. Glad you were there. Always room for one more!

I’d be very careful with this. How God was dealing with man in times past, through the nation of Israel, is now how things are operating today. Applying those scriptures without context and arbitrary is not sound.

A couple crackpots on the right say something outlandish and it's "OMG the entire right believes this crap" a couple crackpots on the left say something equally outlandish and it's "it's just the left wing fringe, pay no attention".
