I was actually going to offer this in your defense but you beat me to it. The right answer would be the Feds kept their damn mouths shut. Of course on the employee side I’m glad the states are acting to keep the Feds in check but I also see the point that it needs to be done in a way that doesn’t force an untenable situation on employers.2 wrongs do not make a right.
Not debating the DeSantis position, but how does “it” have the backing of the constituents though? Were there special ballots for parents of local school districts to vote in mask mandates anywhere? In my school district, the overwhelming position of parents at the school board meeting/hearing, regarding masking, was staunchly opposed. The school board voted it in anyway; so a ruling was made without the constituents’ support and in opposition to their wants.DeSantis' actions removing local decision making has been more populist than conservative.
If the duly elected school board of East Bumble ISD makes a decision based on their understanding of the science and with the backing of their constituents, then DeSantis coming in and telling them they can't do that is to puff up his West Bumble supporters more than to benefit the East Bumble students.
He's just another politician pandering for votes, nothing more.
Any action the states take to counter the fed over reach should be done in a manner that just doesn’t move the untenable situation from the individual to the employer. Forget about corporate America for a minute and think about the huge number of small private businesses and private companies. I’d prefer a solution that has both sides giving the Fed azz hats the two gun salute.Like hell it doesn’t in this case
No.... it’s not tyranny. It’s freedom to choose for yourself. You would have a point if Desantis was dictating that you DON’T get vaccinated. But he’s not. He’s saying you have your GOD GIVEN right to choose for yourself. Not tyranny
