My 365 day countdown clock starts Jan 1 2022. And I’ve been pretty open about it so as to avoid surprises and let them plan. Absolutely everyone is replaceable and I make sure my protégés know that. But there’s no reason to make that replacement transition painful. I’ve had a pretty damn good run and been treated well… this far.Yep, it is industry wide. I've heard some rumblings about people either retiring or quitting... more than I had expected.
But if some corporate dumbass comes in with a “there’s a new sheriff in town mentality” and starts laying down the law on what I will or will not do I can see me throwing my badge in somebody’s face and walking out. I’m pretty much over corporate America at this point. I’ll be taking most of the month of December off due to must take accumulated leave and I’m probably going to spend a day loading up my belongings in my office and bringing them home.
