You guys won't believe this... not sure I do... but I started an SEC pick em contest with some of my wife's family and my dad and 2 of them (Bama and Gator fan) are picking the Vols TO LOSE. Everyone texted me their picks (I'm keeping up with them) and I texted the Gator fan back asking if he was messing with me. He said no. Now, there's no money or anything involved so they could be messing with me... but I honestly don't believe they are! They were talking about how bad the Vols looked in the rerun of their spring game. I'm not gonna bring it up in case they weren't i'd get embarrassed!

We never played Division 2 games before Dooley or maybe Kiffin. I can't remember. So the fact that we are playing Division 2 teams is sad in general.

Some of the door-mat teams years ago like Pacific, UTEP, Akron, Vandie, Duke, Texas Tech, UNLV, Kentucky, Rutgers, South Carolina, Temple, Cincinnati, The directional schools of Louisiana, Oklahoma State are some teams that come to mind that we used to destroy when we played them.

These schools may as well been division 2 back then. I guess those millions they earned for getting the **** kicked out of them has made them better over the years.

We will be back sooner than later because Butch gets it!!

The Chattanooga and North Texas State teams which beat us in Neyland Stadium were both pretty pitiful.

Well, the '09 Western Kentucky team, which posted a perfect 0-12 record and lost to us, 63-7, and the 2000 Louisiana-Monroe team (1-10), which we defeated 70-3, would probably give this Austin Peay team a serious run for their money.

Peay is not a division 2 team. Which team have we played who is a division 2 team?

Are Austin Peay the worst team we have ever played? Or have we played some division 3 team in the past?

Also, has a division 2 side ever beaten an FBS school?

I'd like to table my answer till Sunday morning.

Appy State was not Division II. Appy State was in the Southern Conference, which was Division I-AA, or now, the FCS. Same level as UT-Chattanooga.

App will be making the move to I-A next year. Moving to the Sun Belt conference.:peace2:

Our ESPN isn't the same as yours... It's just a normal sports channel with Soccer/Rugby/Cricket that shows a bit of college and MLB.

Even the ESPN college pass I pay for (Internet based subscription service for Europeans - like MLB TV) only gives me FBS games...

That sounds awful.

If they can recruit, they should be able to compete pretty well against the smaller I-A schools within 3-4 years. But thanks to them leaving the SoCon, they made my UTC Mocs the odds-on favorite to win the conference this year by default. lol

You English and your corruption of our American language. :) j/k

Why are English soccer teams refereed to as plural nouns?

Didn't we play The Citadel one year?

If I remember correctly Vols beat the Citadel in the early 1980's - and Reggie White had 5 or 6 sacks.

Rutgers in 1983 was pretty weak [think they lost to a couple 1AA teams] but as I recall Vols only beat them by a touchdown, on a cold day in the Jersey Meadow-Lands that I had the misfortune to attend.

That conference has been brutal over the past 6 or 7 years! Almost like the SEC of the FCS.
