Would the door open for Wilcox's return to the Hill?

For what!!!!!!!!!! let the team gain some constancy and get some real speed in here before we make a change then tweak it till it is running like a well oiled machine

Yeah....I could live with Bajakian, possibly. But Janzek returning scares me a bit. He was a big question mark coming in....knowing his past history with UGA. If he couldn't handle it there, with tons of homestate talent to utilize, I can't see how he'd fare any better here.

All I can hope for is that, in all this off time (no bowl), he does a TON of self-scouting and study of how the best defenses handle the areas we struggled in (mobile QB's, stopping the run, etc.). If he is willing to do a lot of self-evaluating, the way our players are expected to, from week to week and practice to practice....then, he might turn out to be a decent one.

But to be perfectly frank, I still think CBJ should do what he said he would do, from the start. Hire the best damn staff he could possibly hire. That eliminates both Bajakian and Janzek. Cause they ain't it.

Take a look at Georgia from the time he left to now....not a lot of difference. They are calling for their current DC's head now. What is the common denominator from then to now at Georgia??? Could that be the problem instead of "insert name here", Defensive Coordinator?

Throw the kitchen sink at the Chief

:lolabove: no I seen LSU give up a lot of points this year. And Chief has a lot of talent at LSU. Our DC is good enough you will see when we get talent and some back ups in here.

On defense we are going to see similar results next year regardless. It won't be until 2015 that we'll see what Jancek's system is or isn't capable of doing, but there are no more excuses at that point.

Personally, I'm pessimistic, based off of the fact that in many areas the defense regressed as this season went along, but I'll remain hopeful.

I would say the lack of depth had a little bit to do with the regression of the defense at end of the season.

Why not right? While we're at it lets replace all of the assistants. Lets hire an all new staff, then when they don't produce like the fans want we hire another new staff. That is a winning formula for CF isn't it? Good lord.

Wilcox is one of the bright young minds in defensive coaching. Consider what he did at UT and what he did it with. Then compare to what has happened since he left.

Hammy should have granted Dooley his wish after the UK loss and promoted Wilcox to HC. Wilcox would have hired a good OC, and would have recruited better than Dooley, and UT likely would have won eight games last year, and be on its way.

Holy Crap!!! That plus 3 of our last 5 opponents are in the top 5 of the latest BCS poll! the other two games we played pretty well defensively. Can we please examine what is going on before we post things? :good!:

Total Defense rank improved from #107 to #80 in one year. Let's see how much it improves next year.

It would have been nearly impossible to not have improved from the train wreck that was last year. That was the most pathetic team I've ever seen.

Why would he not go with Sark? He's not coming back here. He doesn't want any part of the SEC

Everyone close to the program is saying that Wilcox and Sermon are going with Sark.
Thread over.
