I'd be happy if he WINS.

But, I would be kinda down if Arky got Petersen from Boise State, and we could land a better coach.

Did UF offer him more money when he was leaving? Did UF go after him when Urban quit?

I'm fairly certain Florida wasn't going to offer over 2 million to keep him as a coordinator when he left for Louisville. As for when Urban quit, I don't know if he was approached but he wasn't in final two.

We need a good defensive minded coach. Defense runs the SEC and is the road to the National Championship.

Tennessee should do better - The Big East is terrible - If Louisville can beat Florida then I will change my tune....Louisville's recruiting is not very good compared to the SEC & he is not real charismatic......I prefer Fedora or Gundy.......

Agree, we need a guy that knows how to recruit SEC. Wait...

And look at the Louisville commitments thus far for 2013. Not very impressive.

Playing with big east players.
He also went 7-6 and 7-6 with Big East players. Granted, that's a step up from Dooley as far as progression goes. At least Strong seems to have the ability to make his teams better. Not sure it's the right fit for the situation that Tennessee Football is in.

What were they when he took over? Previous coach made Dooley look like Lombardi.

They were also 15-21 in the previous three years, and had just had a 4-8 season the year before.

He is recruiting to Louisville... in the Big East... what kind of class do you expect him to sign? If you want to truly see what he can do with resources take a look back at all the players he brought to UF.

I would expect at least one recruit higher than 3 stars.

He was never approached for the job.

A couple things:
1) Your expectations seem a bit lofty for UL. Football is not the top priority of that university, or state for that matter, and never will be.

2) They are in a very weak state in terms of highly touted talent, thus they have to go in to states like SC, NC, GA, FL, AL, TN, etc, and try and scavenge the players not picked up by the big SEC schools and even the ACC schools.

3) If anything by him not bringing in top tier talent, as ranked by recruiting sites that is, is a sign that he knows how to coach kids up and most importantly gets them to play hard for him (something UT has not had since maybe 2007 with CPF).

4) Please take a look back at the recruiting classes he brought in to UF from 2002-2009; in a word, sick!
