I will be surprised if he works out. Strong's HC record is the same as Fulmer's last three years at TN.
24-15

I have watched several Louisville games since he was mentioned as a possible replacement severasl months ago and he seems like a great coach.

We are getting pretty desperate.

Nothing personal...but it's posts like this that make me smh.

Strong is not "desperate". He's widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the country. This is why his AD has stated he will pay whatever it takes to keep Strong, why his name is constantly mentioned every time there is an opening at a big program, and also why he got irritated just yesterday at the media for constantly asking him if he is leaving.

Again, no offense, but if you think going after Strong is "desperate" you have been living in a hole.

Compared to the crap we've had in the past a guy with a winning record and some kind of a track record recruiting wise would be great. Strong has a great background football wise and the potential to do even more with the resources we have.

You can't compare Big East recruits with SEC recruits. The best players want to play in the best conferences for the best schools. Strong has 33 players from the state of Florida on the Louisville roster. If he can recruit SEC caliber players from the state of Florida to Tennessee, I think he would be a home run hire.

Those dissappointed w Strong probably thought we should have made a run after Les Miles since we got turned down by Gruden too

I'm shocked that Utah would ever have hired Urban Meyer. He was only 8-3 and 9-3 in the measly MAC!

Les Miles... Always mediocre in the Big 12. No way he could be successful in the best conference in the land!

Nick Saban sure sucked at Michigan State. Only his las year did a manage a respectable 9 win season. There's no way he could ever be successful in the ESS-EEE-SEE

I don't hate Strong, I think he could be solid, but he's not a championship caliber coach.

Hiring him is rather depressing. It's like someone (Dooley/Kiffin) came and burned your house down. You'd love to build it back better than ever, but instead you're only allowed to build it back to less than what it had been and much less than what you know it could be. While your neighbors build more and more additions.

Strong is like that. He may get us back to beating Georgia and South Carolina regularly, but he's never going to beat Florida and Alabama.
