Would you recruit Mettenburger...

I'm just not willing to say yes or no at this point, mainly considering what he just got in trouble for.

That's really taking a stance.. What was your original question again?

I say give him a chance..

First time he tries to touch a boob, you send him packing.

But you would be able to tell somewhat early whether or not he has learned his lesson. If he's truly "fixed" he would most likely walk a pretty narrow line. Sexual assault will scare many people not named Roethlisberger from being repeat offenders.

This.

See Daniel Hood, for example.

I probably wouldn't recruit him right now, just too soon, IMO. Give him 6 months to a year with no incidences or run-ins with the law, I'm good with it.

Basilio's producer stated he grabbed a breast and the behind of a 20 year old Valdosta State Co-ed at a bar.

That's certainly not good and I don't condone the action but I've seen much worse in a bar myself. It could have been something worse.

I'm on the fence on this one. If you do bring him in you gotta have a PR rush to make sure you get the real story out right at the beginning so the media doesn't run wild with it. Not sure Dooley has proved he has that ability to head of the media hounds when there on a trail, fake or real.

If we sign Worley (which some on Vol Nation are convinced we will) then I see no reason to go after him. Is he talented...YES...worth the risk....NO.

Didnt he lie right to Coach Richt's face when he was asked what happened that night?

If so, I hope we arent recruiting him.

Didn't go down as a misdemeanor with him getting probation? If so, it doesn't sound too serious.

With that being said, you know he would catch slack just like Hood did but donÂ’t compare the two just yet. Hood's incident happened a long time ago and he has showed to many individuals that he has turned around his life.

So he was drinking underage and touched a girl innapropriately and that gets him banned from a whole town and kicked off the football team?

Something else had to have gone down for that type of reaction. There must be something else that hasn't come out or might not come out about this.

I can see Richt overreacting due to the heat he's been taking for discipline issues, but to be banned from the town, why would a town need to overreact unless this wasn't an overreaction.

Wes Rucker is reporting that he is interested in transfering to Tennessee. Am I the only one who is disgusted by this news? Are we seriously THAT desperate?

So it makes us desperate that HE is the one interested? And Mettenberger's a pretty good QB.

Yes. Really short leash, but yes.

I just get this nagging thought that if we were forced to play only 18-22 year old athletes that never got in trouble, every collegiate program would only field 25 man teams.

What? No....

A) He was old enough to know what he was doing is screwed up. B) He looks like a douche.

I would never cheer for him if he were a Vol.

I beleive in second chances, but he was a Georgia Bulldog. Do we really need to go there.

Yeah, after they've been rehabilitated. How does getting kicked off Georgia and immediately recruited to a school like Tennessee teach you anything? All he learned is that you can be a screw up without skipping a beat in life. Seriously... he'll probably end up like Lawerence Taylor if Tennessee immediately takes him in.

Plus, that girl has to live with what he did to her forever. He shouldn't get a second chance until she is rehabilitated as well.
