Would you recruit Mettenburger...

Basilio's producer stated he grabbed a breast and the behind of a 20 year old Valdosta State Co-ed at a bar.

That's certainly not good and I don't condone the action but I've seen much worse in a bar myself. It could have been something worse.

I'm on the fence on this one. If you do bring him in you gotta have a PR rush to make sure you get the real story out right at the beginning so the media doesn't run wild with it. Not sure Dooley has proved he has that ability to head of the media hounds when there on a trail, fake or real.

He is just a kid.....probably had some liquid courage in him and his ego grew....literally. I don't think it is right but no one is perfect. If he wants to come here then Dooley has alot of pressure on him from all of his DISCIPLINE is our IDENTITY speeches he has been given.

Dooley is a lawyer though.....the media will not faze him IMO. He would have to be extremely to the point of what, when, where, why, and how of the incident and why he is now a Vol.........we're all jumping the gun........I don't think the kid makes it here IMO......all though he would be a heck of a QB for us.

What? No....

A) He was old enough to know what he was doing is screwed up. B) He looks like a douche.

I would never cheer for him if he were a Vol.

Plus how can he see the field with that awful mop head of his......he needs:

Or at least:

Why would you want him? We don't need him.
A. We have Bray who is as good of a talent if not better.
B. If we sign Worley then it becomes a moot point.

In a word.....no.

He was drunk and fondled a girl......you can grow up from that.

He repeatedly lied to try to cover himself....big questions marks there to me.

I asked this before but got no answer, say we take him does he have to sit out a year?

Yes he would and more than likely would not be on scholarship for a year also because no way Richt would release him to UT. It would be what Robert Marve would had to do if he had transferred here.

How would Richt have to release him when he is already kicked off the team?

So he was drinking underage and touched a girl innapropriately and that gets him banned from a whole town and kicked off the football team?

Something else had to have gone down for that type of reaction. There must be something else that hasn't come out or might not come out about this.
I can see Richt overreacting due to the heat he's been taking for discipline issues, but to be banned from the town, why would a town need to overreact unless this wasn't an overreaction.

It sure would seem like it. Whatever the decision is, I am comfortable that our current coaching staff will get to the bottom of all of the facts before making a decision.

1)It would depend on the severity of the sexual assault. You can grab a boob or nice chunk of booty and be charged with sexual assault.

2)It would also depend on if he showed remorse and tried to make amends

3)Is he worth the trouble. Meaning does his skill set warrant the ridicule Tennessee would get for recruiting/signing a player with a troubled past

exactly, I believe in a 2nd chance too, but he had an opportunity to tell Richt the straight up truth and he chose to lie.

Here's a guy who was basically 1a for the starting QB job and the HC decided it would be better for the team if he wasnt there.
Please Coach Dooley, Let him be someone else's headache

As seen in the photo below this is how I imagine it all went down. Maybe he was talking to this girl at the bar and to start out with she asked him, "So Zach what do YOU do?" And he replied...."I'm a full on rapist!" But the bar was too noisey and she simply thought he said "I'm a philanthropist!" and found that to be a noble profession and decided he must be a gentleman with simply a bad haircut and proceded to hang out with him.

what did the kid do? cus on TOS they are sayin he grabbed a girls ass in the bar? Whoopdy effin Doo... that happens all the time. Not saying its the right thing to do, but is it really a big deal? It doesn't make him a bad kid because he grabbed a girls ass. I would like to know how many guys never did that when they were his age.

Ousted Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger told former Bulldog Kelin Johnson last week for his website kelinjohnson.com he has offers from Louisville and Cincinnati and is getting strong recruiting interest from Tennessee, USC, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Troy State, Memphis and Colorado. Mettenberger, who would have been a redshirt freshman this season, was dismissed from UGA last month by coach Mark Richt just before pleading guilty to a sexual battery charge.

Safe to say the kid can throw the ball. He has a absolute cannon. Mett would be a huge get for Dooley. There's no one on the vols roster today that would rival him .....of course he couldn't play untill 2011.

I think what he did is weird and creepy. I want nothing to do with this kid.

Grabbing some booty or tuning in Tokyo is weird and creepy?

Getting permission is key, but he's not the first person to commit such a heinous crime.
