I'll allow it...with such a young inexperienced team I think a hard nosed approach is fine...JMO. These kids haven't earned anything yet...

If he wasn't doing anything to address these inconsistencies, then I would be worried. The previous head coach would have just said that were weren't a very good football team and called it a day. Thank goodness we have Butch Jones.

Maybe a slight over reaction by OP, but I have to say I'm beyond tired of the way jones is handling this qb situation. No starter named two years straight until the first game and all he says is how bad they suck if you are honest and listen to him talk without your orange glasses. Then every camp they go to in the offseason every single person besides CBJ says they improved so much...

Relax, Butch just lowering expectations for the young in coming players that have already been crown SEC AllStars...players really don't care If they didn't get to take to the newspapers pre-season....their seats are not hot yet...

Eventually you have to question the coaching. Still not sold on Bajakian. The QBs have missed the WRs bad and that's just against air.

Nobody gives a flip that U and others don't know who the QB is right now. All that counts is doing what it takes to win ball games. Why should it matter at this point if Jones has determined to make them compete? In a perfect world where one is head and shoulders above the others, it would be different---but that's not the case now. They haven't even put on the pads yet and all we hear is whining from people who don't know sheet from Shinola.

It's bad to hold football players accountable when they don't meet the head coaches' expectations? Since when? It isn't recess. It's D1 football for cryin' out loud.

42 freshman/RS freshman. While a lot of them came in as EE's you still have to figure they were playing HS football last year. Most of them were the most talented kids on their teams. I am sure the coaches were fairly laxed to them their senior season. I am sure this year is a real eye opener on how college football is played.

You are exactly right. All we have seen until yesterday is high school phenoms preening and prancing in front of the cameras. I have enjoyed that as much as anyone on VN. But, Butch has seen enough and wants them to face the reality of having to play against SEC competition and has to start bringing them down to earth. He is demanding perfection and attention to details. That is what it is going to take if this young team with razor thin depth will have a prayer to get to a bowl. We can no longer just throw our orange jocks on the field and expect to win. The players as well as the fan base has to understand where we are now as a program and the drastic measures needed to get 6 or 7 wins. Sorry for the rant.

"Not good" for who?...would benefit you... If a thread started on your board that all your Gator linemen had flesh eating bacteria...I wouldn't cheer for it of course, but I wouldn't try to pass it off as tragic news either. :thumbsup:
