Good Lord, bunch of women up in this thread. Sack up, fellas. It's gonna be a long season for you if a little coach-speak disturbs you that much.

"Not good" for who?...would benefit you... If a thread started on your board that all your Gator linemen had flesh eating bacteria...I wouldn't cheer for it of course, but I wouldn't try to pass it off as tragic news either.

Note: was going to use FULL BLOWN AIDS as the example, but deemed it inappropriate after the Rex Grossman rumors.

catbone's uncle just passed from that bro.

CBJ has a very short amount of time to get a very young team mentally stronger, more physical and ready to play a tough schedule. All part of his plan.

I think it's great that CBJ is this upset. This is something we have needed around here for a long time. He just wants to make sure this young team knows what is expected of them, and what will not be tolerated, and that they understand what a privilege they have just being able to play here. Maybe it's not good that the team was uninspired, but it's only the 4th day of practice, and I'm sure it will get better. This happens to every team at some point during fall camp. Relax everyone.

This may be the best thing I've read in a while. I would be much more concerned if coach was babying them and patting them on the back after screwups. Good coaches know when to utilize one of the three necessary tools - 1) when to kick in the pants 2) when to encourage, and 3) when to leave them alone and let them figure it out.

He planned for the team to start Fall camp playing poorly?

Thanks harry but it's all good, doesn't bother me :hi:

Apologize if it came across insensitive...if I'd have used Ebola I'm sure it would have touched a nerve somewhere...going to wean myself off of analogies. :hi:

It's called a stress test. He needs to know at what point these young men are gonna break (and they will break), so he's gonna break them. Welcome to big ball.

No, he planned to call them out for Practicing poorly. CBJ is a master of motivation, both with his young and older players. He's doing what he needs to do to motivate a young team.

You are exactly right. All we have seen until yesterday is high school phenoms preening and prancing in front of the cameras. I have enjoyed that as much as anyone on VN. But, Butch has seen enough and wants them to face the reality of having to play against SEC competition and has to start bringing them down to earth. He is demanding perfection and attention to details. That is what it is going to take if this young team with razor thin depth will have a prayer to get to a bowl. We can no longer just throw our orange jocks on the field and expect to win. The players as well as the fan base has to understand where we are now as a program and the drastic measures needed to get 6 or 7 wins. Sorry for the rant.

Thankfully some other people here understand. This isn't a sign of "cancel the season" but a teaching tool to these young kids that their time in the spot light is over, and they have to earn it back with performance. We're so young. We ARE capable of pulling a winning season, but these kids have to be ready. Good thing we have weeks left for them to learn.
