Wow. Does the media ever hate Palin

Less about governance, more about not having to listen to her (as much).

Not trying to offend you but.... that would be an incredibly stupid reason to vote for or against someone. Their competence is what counts.

And....there's a post about defending Palin without bringing up Obama. What does gs respond with? A collage of anti-obama propaganda. Success!

Palin was an effective governor of a geographically large state. Palin apparently knows history much better than those following her around looking for reasons to dismiss or condemn her. She has demonstrated integrity by taking on her own party's corruption/establishment. She has more in common and relates better to "average people" than most currently in the race. And... appparently... she's honest.

I personally do not like her speeches or the sound of her voice when she gives them. I dislike cliches generally so I don't like her's. I like her much better in interviews. If she were to run (which I don't think she will) then she should do the shows and avoid the rallies.

The one thing I appreciate about her right now is that she's running cover for other conservatives who are or might run. The MSM is so worried about her that they aren't engaged in destroying the next person who they fear might be Reagan II. Since Reagan, the MSM has a phobia of someone who might pick up his mantle. The minute they sense the possibility... they attack without any regard for fairness or even honesty.

Obama has proven to be a poor leader. Palin caved under pressure in Alaska and like Obama is very inexperienced at executive leadership as a result of it. Given that similarity, I'll simply vote for who I can stand more...which unless he gets worse, would be Obama. The thought of Palin as President seriously comes close to making me ill.

Hopefully we can avoid this by nominating someone much better for the Republican ticket. I have no capacity to imagine that Palin would make a good President. It is just unfathomable to me. Part of that is people being able to tolerate her. How can you lead when you are so disrespected?

I hope you aren't referring to the Paul Revere stuff, because her explanation was a joke (as in ridiculous).

Don't you mean LSM instead of MSM?

No it wasn't. You ever talk to someone so smart that it seems like they are speaking an alien language? That's what happened in her explanation.

She, and other golly-gee folks like her, make me want to vomit. She is ridiculously demeaning in her speaking patterns. I am not a kindergartner - don't speak to me like one.

How can you lead when you are so disrespected?

You are telescoping your personal angst to everyone. I dislike her rallies. I like her much better in interviews. She does sound like a boob with the slogans and such... she seems more in touch when answering direct questions.

Her image has been hurt by the MSM who react to her much like you do... on an emotional, hatefilled level. She doesn't help herself at times either. However it would be a mistake to think everyone reacts the way you do.

My wife feels the same way about Obama. I don't. I oppose his ideas and that sometimes makes me react... but not because I dislike him.

Yes. What she said was actually correct.

No it wasn't. It was a stupid response, IMO. Why would you say that Revere was spreading word that America was here to stay to the British that happened to be living amongst the Americans along his route? By all accounts I have read, that is bogus (and if you can provide the historical evidence I have missed, I will read it and admit I was misinformed if so). I think it is clear she misspoke and decided to cover for it rather than admit it was misspoken.

So you accept that it is historically accurate to suggest Revere was riding to spread word to the British that America was for freedom, and being strong, and that the Americans were here to stay? That was his actual purpose? To spread word to the British that happened to be living amongst the Americans along his route? A route that was cut short by his detention? Was that also the mission of the other riders? Was getting to Concord to get the key members of the Sons of Liberty out and warn of the march just a sideshow of the greater scheme to let the British know that America was going to be a great country? Why not just ride on another night to let them know how great America is going to be rather than the day of the march?

Someone please tell me why the media looked in
every nook and cranny to find any sort of dirt on
her but overlooked nearly everything about every
other candidate in the 2008 election.

As for the original post, maybe that's why Obama
didn't wear a flag in his lapel.

A professor at BC I believe said that Palin was
correct in her statement about Revere.

People attack her because she's simple...and no amount of pictures of her on a motorcycle are going to prove otherwise.

Agreed but doesn't Obama's use of ridiculous extreme strawmen to show his "middle approach" do the same?

"Some people want to kill old people, other people want to give them everything they want. My plan is to not kill them but not give them everything either"

That usually follows a plea to not demagogue issues and treat each other with respect and civility.

Or how about "they drove the car in the ditch and I'm driving it and yeah it's slow because of all the, you know, damage from the ditch and then they ask for the keys back"

Or "so I'm out with my kids getting some ice cream and cops come along and ask me for my papers".

It's all the same to me - demeaning non-arguments instead of really addressing the merits of a particular idea or plan.

If this is what we get from the highly educated and thoughtful leader than I say give me the down home straight shooter (not Palin)

Agreed. Are we attracted to stupidity as voters? Let's replace Obama with Palin - that'll show future presidents that they have to be smart leaders!

Here is an excellent example of the opposite view
from the lame stream media.

From Pravda on the Potomac we get this:

Hubris and humility: Sarah Palin and Robert Gates on tour - The Washington Post

I can defend Palin's intellect quite a bit.

What fault do you find with her intellect?

-The fact that she accepted the VP nod in '08 with so little knowledge of running a country is a pretty good indicator that the elevators don't go all the way up.

-She thinks creationism should be taught in schools.

-While we're at it... her opinion on birth control and a slew of other social issues is archaic, pointless, and dumb.

-"Sarah Palin's Alaska"

-Finally, for humor... this: YouTube - ‪Sarah Palin Got Pranked‬‏

So basically because she doesn't agree with you on the issues she is not intelligent.

I can't speak to her level of intelligence but trying to measure it by seeing how much the agree with you certainly isn't a valid measure.

-That doesn't apply to the first point at all, but we'll just ignore that (as per usual).

-The fact that she thinks EVERYONE should be taught the myth that she believes is what I find stupid. We should be taught that which has been proven the most.

-If you can find one reason why a ban on birth control is a smart move, it would apply to what you're saying. It's not about agreeing or disagreeing here. This is either quaint or not. Come on now.

-Watch an episode or two and get back to me. There's more to absorb on "Flavor of Love"

-I mean... they actually had to tell her she was being pranked despite all the crap they were saying. It's not a very good way to gauge her intelligence (it was for humor), but she was the ditz there.

It's not about constituency.

My list of why Obama isn't that bright:

- he ran for (and won) the presidency after a total of 4 years as a Senator and zero experience as an executive: this has to qualify as an elevator not going all the way up

- he believes that the businesses will grow and invest eventhough he continually changes the regulatory environment and introduce increasing uncertainty into the business environment - coo-coo for cocoa puffs

- he clearly doesn't understand the word transparency (it's really not a hard word to understand) DERP

- he thinks the word is "corpse" man - D'oh

- he tells people complaining about gas prices to sell their old cars and go buy a new hybrid - double derp

- he thinks spreading the wealth around creates wealth and economic growth - Boing!

How'd I do? Seems like an equally valid measure of intelligence.

Ch'yeah, and it's worked out well so far.

Defending Palin by attacking Obama is silly because the current admin sucks. Your satire backfired because of that. Everything you said here is totally legit!

So, barring your semi-sarcasm... you did a great job. you get a +1 and a "have a nice day!"

Also, about Obama being smart or dumb... who cares? He's in already and we've got another year and a half of this crap. Palin is a new threat. Why vote another failure in?

So... How does that refute the earlier analysis of Palin? They're both dummies.
