Given that there should have been no contact between DeShields and Tennessee at this point, I'm not sure how accurate it is to state that this has been "in the works for weeks."

I believe what he meant is she has known for weeks that she is transferring and TN is where she wants to go. He didn't say there was contact.

That's quite possible . . . but to me, suggesting that something has been "in the works" implies that all parties involved are in the process of working out details. I am quite certain that there has been no contact whatsoever between DeShields and Tennessee. It is quite likely that DeShields has let it be known in certain circles that Tennessee is her top choice and ultimate destination if all pans out as she wants it to, but it is certainly far from a done deal, which is how it has been reported in at least one source. Perhaps more judicious word choices are called for all around.

I think DeShields has the skill set to be a fabulous addition to the team, and I think it would be wonderful if Tennessee is ultimately where she lands. That said, I certainly hope there has been no contact at this point. If DeShields is still completing the semester at UNC, which I gather she is, and if she will not be officially released until the semester ends next month, any kind of contact before that point would reflect very negatively on Tennessee.

There hasn't been contact by Tennessee the information has come from people close to the situation. Like you said there will be no contact until the semester is over. Nothing is official until it happens.

DeShields is a superb player who seems to be extraordinarily offensively minded. She could certainly be a major contributor. I hope she finds her way to Tennessee, but as you say, it isn't official until it is.

You sound upset that DD will end up at UT instead of UGA like you said she would....While the lady vols haven't been to a ff in a while the fan base is still large and puts many others to shame whether on the road or at home....a lot of orange will be in the arena

Upset? nope no way..You know by now or should know I am A UCONN fan.Honest if she were to come to Uconn things would get upset.Uconn doesn't need DD,

TENN does badly ,I hope she becomes a LV,I always love to watch CPS before she stepped down,Holly...well.no comment. yes DD would be great for TENN:salute:

I would suggest trying to improve your reading comprehension skills before embarrassing yourself further. I have never claimed to be an "expert," though the number of posts next to one's moniker is not in any way suggestive of one's knowledge or lack thereof. It indicates only how many times an individual poster has commented within a particular forum. Having spent the past decade or so posting solely on political debate forums, I'm no stranger to message board commentary. I've gotten burnt out as of late with those boards and decided to sign up for something a bit . . . lighter. As a lifelong Vols fan (particularly of Lady Vols basketball), this seemed like a interesting choice (add to that the fact that I have been reading this board for a few years).

Who am I? Let's just say I am someone who recognizes and respects your innate humanity but who otherwise owns you in every measurable category.

And I believe I've already indicated which team I like.

All though everyone says UT; I wouldn't count out UGA. She'll have the same freedom she did at UNC with a group of girls who she's probably know forever. Chemistry wouldn't be an issue. It would be her team.
