gosh I love you girl you are so wrong.... anyway GOD BLESS YOU:eek:k:

First of all let's get one thing straight, Volnation runs deep. I am passionate about my Lady Vols just as most Vol fans are. For you to address me as a "girl" is totally disrespectful. I am a grown black man that follows all Vol sports from football to softball to track & field. What I have posted is nothing people did not already know.

I suggest you know your audience before you address them in the future.

Original post: "I don't know yet why the young star is leaving, but I do know that right now it's looking like she'll next be a Georgia Bulldog."

Everybody suspects her to choose UT just because her mom ran track here. That dosent mean she's going to attend. And I don't think where Cooper lands has to do with where DeShields will play next, I don't know why people are saying they are a package deal. Honestly, I think Cooper's de-commitment came from committing too early to UNC. Committing to the first school that offered. Anyway wasn't it Cooper and Robinson who said they wanted to attend the school together. In the end, I wish Diamond well wherever she lands maybe a year off from ball is exactly what she needs to get her mind right and her body completely healed.

I haven't seen where anyone said DD and Cooper are a "package deal". In fact, the only thing I, as well as several others, have said is that they would like to play together. This isn't some big secret or anything. They're very good friends and would love to play for the same program. And there's a very strong chance that program will be TENN.

"I don't know yet why the young star is leaving, but I do know that right now it's looking like she'll next be a Georgia Bulldog."

This quote is based on the fact that Diamond was recently on the Georgia campus. I believe she was there for a birthday party. It is actually by a person who I immensely respect, but I think she is off base here. Time will tell.

People need to chill a little bit. Diamond will be at UNC at least through the first week of May (I believe exams end around May 8th or so), so she can't talk to any coaches or pick a school before then. I would expect an announcement on where she is going not too long after that, definitely before the month of May is up. I think Diamond probably does know where she wants to go and it may have gotten out through the back channels, but nothing is certain right now as she can't even speak to coaches and coaches can't speak to her. So all this stuff being a "done deal", etc. is just unsubstantiated rumors, and the media needs to stop trying to stir the pot by attempting to be the first one to break news. There will be no news -- and by NCAA rules there CAN'T be any news -- until Diamond is granted a released from UNC and is no longer enrolled there.

I wasn't meaning here or UT fans.I was talking about other boards and the UNC fans who where saying it was a done deal, because of the possibility of getting Cooper. Which Deshields playing with Cooper could have happened if she stayed at UNC. Cooper could had recommitted to the Tarheels. She just wanted to experience the recruitment process. Also I mentioned her mom running track at UT, because of the ESPN article I read. Which seemed to indicate that it's a possibility to UT because her mom ran track there.

Te'a Cooper had it on her twitter a couple of days ago. It stated something like "Cooper and Deshields a package deal? In fact Te'a Cooper was the author of it but she took it down shorty after that

I actually think Te'a was annoyed by the notion of it (she seemed to be anyway), and I don't think it was aimed at fans, I think it was aimed at some people in Georgia. I don't think the tweet necesarily meant it wasn't true.

Deshields to UT is a done deal, per OrangeBlur on VQ. He's a friend of the family and wouldn't make it up. Apparently she decided this almost 2 months ago. She only went to UNC because of peer pressure from some of their recruits last year.

Let's say it is UT do you guys think that UNC will try and block the transfer to UT.

If you're asking for an opinion, my opinion is that they would not try to block a transfer or raise a fuss IF she goes to a school out of the ACC. And even if it was an ACC school (I highly doubt it will be), I don't think they would then either, but that's the only variable that could make it more divisive IMO.

Similarly, if the shoe was on the other foot and we had a player who wanted to transfer, I don't see us putting up any roadblocks either. At the end of the day, they are student athletes playing a sport that is not particularly lucrative even for the best of the best who go pro, so it seems petty to try to hold anyone back from living the life they want to live.

Blocking student athlete transfers never pan out well in the publicity department (see Amanda Butler & Florida restricting the transfer of Moss last year). Further, the UNC athletic department has more than enough negative PR on its plate to handle at the moment.

As long as there is no evidence of tampering on UT's part I just can't see UNC going that route.

If DD wants to transfer to UT & play in Big Orange Country in front of the best BB fans in the world then let it be written & let it be done. We have coaches that are good enough to put her where she will shine just as the other girls that come to play there. Some posters on here think they know it all & what's good for her......blah blah blah. Let the chips fall where they may.
