'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

Think Morris said in an interview that he won't be having surgery, that time is helping out.

WIth the labrum, if its not crazy bad, scar tissue will set up and the femoral head will wear it down to where it can be a pseudo labrum. Betcher and those guys will take a close look at it. I have 2 torn labrums in both hips and never missed any time.

Might want to do a little research. Rumor is he is not close to an SEC starter, needs a lot of work in the weight room.
As do most high lineman. Alot of folks really have no idea what it takes to get a high school ol or dl ready to do trench war in the sec. I've stated this on numerous occasions. When we were a dominant program. We would sign our linemen and then they would disappear for a year or two. When they did play they were physically capable to. Very few Trey Smith's or the cat at bama a couple of years ago.Just be patient and let these guys develop. I've seen Wana and Wright and can say both dont look nearly strong enough right now.

This is true but my point is he wasn’t ready to play. Just pointing out that wright and Morris may not contribute early.

Totally different. JJ didnt do anything to keep his conditioning up and did have a semester to get in shape like Wanya will. Wright is one who may have to wait until mid year before starting. (Maybe....)

He’s pretty much deactivated his Instagram unlike last year when he was posting dumb sh*t non stop. I’m taking that to mean he’s doing work lol

I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m just saying we all thought jj would be a major contributor when he signed. We were wrong. I don’t know if Darnell or Wanya will be ready or not but we still need other players to step up and get better. That’s all I’m saying.

Top uncommitted recruits in the 2019 class (247Sports)
4) DARNELL WRIGHT | OT

8657734.jpg

High school: Huntington (W.V.)

Measurables: 6-6 | 320

247Sports Composite: 5-star (0.9944), No. 10 Overall, No. 1 OT

Evaluation: Carries 315 pounds like it is 285. Aggressive, long and moves well laterally. Strong lower body helps him recover quickly. Has the foot speed and mentality to play left tackle. Has nasty streak. He is athletic, bends well at the knees and is quick. Changes direction well and can combat speed and strength pass rushers. Runs well and gets to second level blocks quickly. Is fluid when he pulls. Competes hard. Needs to improve technique. Powerful initial punch but needs to be more consistent with hand placement. Dips head and gets caught off balance at times. Upper tier Power 5 multi-year starter with first-round potential. – 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn

NFL Draft projection: Second round

Player comparison: Terron Armstead | OT | New Orleans Saints

247Sports Crystal Ball: Tennessee 88% | Alabama 6% | Ohio State 6%

Wright and Morris are bookend tackles for next 3 years. Wanya has much better chance to start and will be LT due to enrolling early and having spring in weight room. Wright issues will be him coming in during the summer.

RT: Wright/ Richmond
RG: Carvin
C: Kennedy
LG: Hall/ Johnson
LT: Morris

If you want to have fun project the D. That is going to be fuuuuuuuun to watch.

Respect your opinion and the info you bring, but I can almost promise you that if Wright is our starting RT next year, Guarantano is in for a long season.

DW is very raw. He needs to develop his quickness and agility, and hasn't been prepared for immediate starter reps thru the competition he has faced like Morris has. He has never seen what a Bama or Georgia DLineman looks like in a real game situation. Wright just bullies and overpowers people in this area, and even still has struggled at times against kids that will just as likely be working in coal mines next fall as playing D1 football.

He simply isn't ready to start in the SEC as a freshman. Experience will be great for him if he has to do it out of necessity, but his freshman year will very likely be rough, especially if he isn't an EE. His ceiling is enormous, but his floor is very low as well without proper development and coaching.

JG is right handed and our OT struggled last year bad.

The OL is not going to be a strong point next year even with Morris and Wright. True freshmen OL in the SEC are considered to be balling out when they are just not an active liability, if they can come in and contribute this year, they can be the foundation for a solid line next year (2020).
