Wanya is still a 5 star, he's the No. 13 player in the country overall according to the composite.

Iirc, Rivals downgraded Morris some in their most recent player rankings update, and that caused him to drop just a little in the 247 Composite.

I think this is correct. It was one of those loose explanations that boiled down to him not camping/interviewing enough with them. A lot of words to not say much, to make it seem like they arent downgrading him for standing them up.

It's been said before, and I've been watching recruiting for 20+ years and it holds true to what I've seen: there just are no sure things in recruiting, but over time, a higher percentage of 5 stars turn out to be really good than 4 stars, a higher percentage of 4 stars turn out to be really good than 3 stars, and so on. Any can be good or bad, but the more higher rated players you can compile the better your odds that you will accumulate enough really good players to have a really good team.

Oh I 100% agree with that line of thinking. My point was that no one knew he wouldn't be in shape when he got here when he signed his LOI

I agree no one ever thought end of August. But a lot of us got chewed out when we stopped believing the insiders after get fooled two or three times. Most kept buying.
