'19 WV OL Darnell Wright (Tennessee signee)

I love this class. Add in the 2 transfers, and it's hard to beat.
Top 5 with the transfers... no doubt. Seeing Au and A&M after Russell tells you all you need to know. Who cares if some guy named Woody thinks he’s a 3 star. Pruitt, Gus, and Fisher want him

Feels like Wright & To’ are the only ones with 100% guaranteed spots coming down the home stretch.

Will be interesting to see how the remaining spots play out with Cox, Harris, Pickens, Russell.

In your opinion..is our class, with Wright, HT and Russell added by the end, really a 10th type class? Because I sure as hell don't. We have some badly and stupidly underrated guys.

Yes. It is historically an 8th-11th rated class. Remember, that's not including the 2 highly rated transfers.

And 2014 #7 class was 274 pts, this would be 272.xx points. Materially no different. Focus on the total points or class average, not just yearly ranking, which changes year to year.

Price pretty much admitted on podcast he tried to play middle and not give too much away for awhile but once Wright made it obvious by not visiting anywhere there is no reason to hide the fact that he will go to TN.
Still don’t understand why he didn’t just go ahead and sign early.

From a dan Harrelson article in July.

Darnell Wright has size and heart, humble throughout recruiting process

“He is humble, kind of quiet and good natured, big smile and is always concerned about his teammates,” Wilson said. “He is waiting to make a decision so that people can come and see him and his teammates. That is who he is.”
There is not a timetable on Wright’s commitment decision, but Wilson sees the talented prospect “waiting as long as he can to get his teammates exposure without thinking about himself.”

IMO which means very little. Harris will sign. Unless he takes an official visit here this weekend or next, he be a blue shirt. I think he is able to go through a signing ceremony etc at his high school but he won't be a counter against this class or next until he is eligible and does enroll... @griddie knows best

That is not what I meant. I have followed recruiting for years now, and I know the numbers, I meant when analyzing each player yourself...what is your opinion on this classes quality.

I thought my intent was obvious, sorry for the lack of explanation.

We will know the answer in 2-3 years, but I am confident this will appear to be an underrated coach. I hope and pray they are talking about CJP on TV like they are CRB today.

Better not OV or we likely cant take him. I think the only way we can fit 24-25 is with a few blueshirts. Sounds committed to us, dont see any need to ov.

Sorry, dont watch each players film or have any coaching background so I have no real insight.

I would say from reading mods and looking at how many guys have injuries in this class, regardless it still looks like a top 10 class to me, but its fluid. I would say no worse than 15th. Some teams below us will have smaller classes, but higher quality.

BUT include our transfers and i sure as heck think it's a 10th type class. Cant see it being much lower. Just my uninfirmed opinion.

do you think it's much worse? because of the injuries? Really hope crouch, toots, morris arent like KMac and others and never fully recover

Likely blue shirt per his thread. Taking the February ACT, so he has work to do. Strong upside as a player if they can get him in school and he doesn't appear to be all that interested in UNC.

Exactly, hope he's our 4th guy. Hate some already thinking he wont be a part of the class. Hoping we can take 25 with toots, wright, russell, and harris!

I think this is a 5-9 quality class. I think some guys are badly underrated, and I don't think any of the injuries are severe. Kmacs worst ailment was a horrible case of dontgiveacrapitis. It was an epidemic.

Fair enough. But you are also likely to focus most on UT's class and in a positive way. Many see a couple 5 stars and handful of 4 stars and are very impressed with recent recruiting. But look at other top 10 teams and this is normal (and well below normal for top 5 classes).

That is, you probably don't focus on other teams' classes and see their gems. You know most about our guys and are likely to find positives more than negatives. More likely to discount our guys' issues - this year especially guys that are injured, but also guys that had questionable senior years but stood pat (Maleik Gray is the best example of this ever, but McCollough is this year). Also curious we had a number of guys drop from last year till now. Not many positive movers, except Harrison, Russell if he lands. All positives and negatives taken into account, I'll just take the composite score for what it is. I'm no expert and have no scouting background. Do you?
