How many 50+ yard punts does Palardy need before you guys at least accept him as a pretty decent punter?

Some of his best games statistically were on the road: Idaho (48.6) and UNLV (47.5). Idaho, however, plays in a domed facility, so we are talking about a climate-controlled environment. On the other hand, Texas and Fresno State most closely approximate conditions in Neyland and two interesting stats emerge from those games. First of all, if you combine the stats for those two games, you come out with almost exactly a 40-yd. average (15 for 598 yds.). However, that figure includes shanks of 19 and 20 yards on his first two collegiate efforts, ones launched on the road in a hostile environment. Against the Longhorns, he also nailed two punts over 50 yards, including a 54-yarder, so his last three punts totaled 149 yards (49.67 ave.). Considering how many times we have watched Palardy and Darr unravel following a bad kick or two, that level of composure for a first-game freshman is most impressive.

You guys have not seen our preferred walk on Trevor Daniel punt. 47 yard average, long of 75 I think, and a Tennessee native. Best high school punter i've ever seen.

Palardy's average last year equaled Britton Colquitt's senior season average and was almost 2 yards per punt better then Dustin Colquitt's senior season.

Holy **** you're stupid. Ill say it again: READ POST #81 and refute a single thing I said.

Not defending dude/dudette...but in fairness, I don' t think post #'s show up on mobile. Or, at least I haven't seen them. Just an fyi

Trevor is a big strong punter. Unless we get a stud recruit next year I expect Daniel to be the punter in 2014.

You don't have to take my word for it. Look a the national punting services/camps and see where he's rated. He's a little green. Needs to work on his steps but has one of the strongest legs I've seen. High school punters that play a position don't get a lot of practice time to punt. He will get plenty of time to get his steps right In college and his leg will take care of the rest. All I can say is remember the name Trevor Daniel. When you see him punt remember my post.

Why do we just compare the avg yards for punting. It also depends on the field they have ahead of them. Average yards + Inside 20 should give a better comparison.

With the number of 3 and outs we had, my guess is Palardy had a much longer field to punt.

If you aren't an idiot, you made a world-class effort at simulating one. Try to edit your writing of unnecessary material before attempting to impress us with your insight. The evidence that you are a nincompoop will still be available to readers, but they will be able to access it more rapidly.

Efficiency. I concur.

Eventhough a bunch of the comments may lead you to believe it, this really isn't about Palardy at all (who does well most of the time on punts - punts.)

Palardy will be gone after this year and the new guys has to sit out a year, so he won't be "competing" against Palardy.
