Yeezus

Classic example of blindly bashing music you don't care for.

"If you do not like a certain style of music, you can still respect it, value the creative process that produced it, and learn from it."
-David Willoughby

Nothing she has done could be considered legit country. Nothing.

Try and act like there isn't a difference in sound and texture from College Dropout to Yeezus.

I've heard all the Taylor Swift need to hear, I'm not blindly doing so, she sucks.

Yall crazy to say u don't like kanye, dat he suck and hasn't put anything out, but then name ur favorite album by him....smh. kanye tight af look at wat he has done...beat productio

Not surprised that this is what a post looks like from a Kanye supporter.
I agree with the guy who said he's one of the most overrated musicians right now. I don't want to change the subject, but I feel the same way about Jack White.
Completely forgetting about his personality, Kanye's lyrics are just ridiculous.
"Like Kathy Lee needs Regis, ya'll need Jesus." I laughed out loud the first time I heard that rhyme.
How about when he claims that the government administers AIDS?
Or my all time favorite,
"I know a bar out in Mars where they drivin spaceships instead of cars.
Cop a prada space suit about the stars, getting stupid hah, straight up out the jars
Pockets on Shrek, rockets on deck
Tell me what's next? Alien sex."

This is the guy you all want to call a genius?

I found this quote of his to be great: "IF IT WASN'T FOR RACE MIXING THERE'D BE NO VIDEO GIRLS. ME AND MOST OF OUR FRIENDS LIKE MUTTS A LOT. YEAH, IN THE HOOD THEY CALL 'EM MUTTS."

Totally awesome, especially considering he's not from the hood.

I agree that Jesus Walks has stupid lyrics. Kanye's greatest talent is as a producer. His lyrics are usually great though. We can take any artist and find stupid lyrics that they sing. At least Kanye has originality to him. And it doesn't matter if it's Pink Floyd, KiD CuDi, or Kanye, I love songs about outer space. Don't ask me why.

Penitentiary chances, the devil dances
And eventually answers to the call of autumn
All them fallin' for the love of ballin'
Get caught with 30 rocks, the cop looked like Alec Baldwin

End of century anthems, based off inner-city tantrums
Based off the way we was branded
Face it, Jerome get more time than Brandon
And at the airport they check all through my bag

And tell me that it's random, but we stay winnin'
This week has been a bad massage, I need a happy endin'
And a new beginning and a new fitted
And some job opportunities as lucrative

This the real world, homie school finished
They done stole your dreams, you don't know who did it
I treat the cash the way the government treats A.I.D.S.
I won't be satisfied until all my niggas get it, get it?

This verse is so awesome and if this is what you are citing in regard to government "administering aids" that's not what he said.

Um, no. I was referring to this from "Heard 'em Say"

Before you ask me to go get a job today
Can I at least get a raise of the minimum wage?
And I know that the government administer AIDS
So I guess we just pray like the minister say

You're really gonna try and dis heard em say? That's not only one of his best songs, so good the chorus produced two hits, one for maroon 5 also, but its one of the better storytelling jobs of current rappers today. I love classic rock too, but I can find a million stupid or ignorant things queen, the eagles, creedence, etc have said too. We get it, you don't like rap or kanye. So why come into the topic about one of the most anticapted albums of the year just to troll?

Haven't heard anyone call those other artists geniuses.
Don't get it twisted, I enjoy rap. I was one of the first radio personalities ever to go on the air for HOT 104.5. I was offered the music director job there.
I grew up on Biggie, 2pac, Wu Tang, Nas, Dre, etc.

Then how do you not get how influential Kanye has been? He's production list is surpassed only by Dre, the RZA, and DJ Premier right now. He's arguably one of the 10 best rap producers of all time. You don't like that he's an *******, no big deal. I think he's a prick too, but to say he's not a production genius, that's not true. He's an above average rapper at best, but throw in his elite production and it gives you great albums like Late Registration, BDTF, and Yeezus.

I just don't understand people

1. dissing Kanye in a Yeezus thread
2. Comparing him to Taylor swift all because of his event. Taylor swift is not even close to the same level as Kanye in any regard, hell, he uses auto tune as well as she does even.

This thread is a major fail. Try to get it back on track.

I think I heard him say "I stay 300 like the Romans" on a track, LMAO

I like this one

Kanye West is a genius. I'll never deviate from that.

He's an average rapper, but his production is second to none. That's his real genius.

I also think that part of his genius is having the balls to go a different route on every single album.

It would be so easy to just stick to a formula and make hit after hit, instead he changes his style, not just album to album but from song to song.

You can keep our garden variety bland music, I'll cast my lot with the risk takers.

Don't confuse "musician" with intellect.

George Strait is a better hip hop artist than Kanye.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've read on this board, and that is saying a lot.

Kanye has reinvented himself time and time again, and he continues to produce excellent albums that are lyrically on point. His albums, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy & Graduation, alone cement his legacy in the hip hop world; Yeezus will only add strength to his claim of being the greatest rapper alive (because he is). I don't like the guy, but I still respect the product he delivers each and every time. I don't like Nick Saban, but at least I can respect what he has done with the Alabama football program.

Who exactly do you think is a good hip hop artist?

Kanye West is one of the most arrogant, egotistical people on the planet.

We'd get along swimmingly.

P.S. This is his best album ever.
