Yeezus

I think the album is good. I'd give it a B to B+ grade depending on my mood. Some catchy songs, some nonsense as well. If he could have replaced that first track with ANYTHING ELSE, I think it would be a more complete album.

I also think that this album is setting up for a sick followup album sometime down the road. Kanye isn't afraid to experiment with his sound, and he's not afraid to do it in front of everyone. It's commendable and it's exciting, because you get to be a part of that progression.

The Jamaican/Raggaetron influence is kind of cool too, IMO. This feels like a summertime 808s&HBs. That, in and of itself, is exciting because 808s and the swarm of controversy surrounding Kanye is what eventually led to MBDTF.

"What did you do at work today?"
"I sat on my computer and had to put this IDIOT in his place. He thinks that Kanye West is better than Taylor Swift!"

Swift and Kanye (and the Beatles for that matter since they were brought up) are so insany overrated its not even funny.

Now as I've said before on here, don't confuse overrated and bad (most people do when you say something is overrated).

Bwahahahaaaaa!!!!!

Validating you're stance on rap for being a "personality" on 104.5 Knoxville radio is rather comical....

That station is a joke.

Courtesy of a guy who lived in Chicago and Atlanta who heard actual rap radio stations....

And what an anomaly.... growing up to Biggie, 2pac, Wu Tang, Nas, Dre, etc... No other mid 20 to upper 30 year old did that!!!

Apologies, didn't mean to "get it twisted".

Ladies and gentlemen, we should have just come to this guy for his opinion in the beginning. He lived in Chicago and Atlanta, so he is street. I know I'm impressed!

I was replying to a post that said I didn't listen to rap. I've scheduled his music on two different stations and listened to pitch meetings with his record company. Neither of those stations were "rap" stations. They were a CHR/Rhythmic and a CHR/Pop. Before you dog a station for not being an "actual rap station", know what you're talking about. HOT has never claimed to be a rap station.
Who said it was an anomaly that I listened to 90s rap? What are you even talking about? That wasn't the point at all. I was responding to the guy that said I didn't like rap. I do. Good rap. Kanye West doesn't make that cut.

No argument here.

Best tracks are Blood on the Leaves, Bound 2, and probably Hold My Liquor. In that order. the first two are way better than anything else on the album though IMO.

but Blood on the Leaves has Nina Simone to help, so.

That is basically my order except:

Bound 2
Blood on the Leaves
New Slaves

I've not heard a better line on an album in a while than

"Close your eyes and let the word paint a thousand pictures
One good girl is worth a thousand *****es"

It's not that great of a rhyme even, its the Occam's Razor that "How has nobody done this line before?"

Sensitive?

You made a statement that you "enjoy rap" and then immediately followed that statement by saying you we're a "personality" on 104.5(chuckles). As if the 2 are hand in hand.

Your opinion on this subject is the same as the radio station you were a so called "personality" on, a joke...

My opinion on this subject is a joke? Interesting.
Why do you even come to a message board if you are going to immediately dismiss everyone who disagrees with you? What a hilarious topic to be such an ass about. I won't share my thoughts on Lil' Wayne or Nelly, either. I'm sure it would just infuriate you.

Also, why do you keep bashing WKHT? You live in Illinois. Do you listen to them online or something? It's a hip hop station in Knoxville, and it is the #4 rated station in town. That's pretty amazing, if you know anything about radio. You may not like it, but a huge portion of east TN does. Plus, I wasn't even arguing about the station, I really couldn't care less about it. I was just answering another guy's point about me not liking rap. If someone said I didn't know anything about brick laying, I would have mentioned my summer in high school as a brick-layer's assistant.
Your argument style is just fascinating to me.

Why not come to a message board to dismiss idiotic opinions? And by the way, I haven't made any points for anyone to disagree with. I just found the 104.5 comment comical and it was the only thing I brought up in this topic, not really arguing anything. Now your all up in arms about it.

Your argument style is feeble-minded.

Hahaha I was just quoting that line to a good friend of mine that hasn't listened yet. Sooo good.
