It all goes back to post #6. You guys brought it upon yourselves. More specifically, GahLee did.

She's lousy and if you think anything to the
contrary then you're an idiot.

I don't mind people liking her music but be real, she has little to no talent.

Lol, you clearly know very little about music and talent. The fact that you blatantly completely discredit everything she does says it all.

And you still haven't said why Kanye is so great outside of proclaiming him to be a genius and that his style changes (which it doesn't).

I know little about music? You're the one defending Taylor Swift buddy. Not me.

You're obviously ignorant when it comes to West, saying his style hasn't changed is 100% proof of that.

He's not even close to the same artist he was.

He went from sped up soul samples to EDM. What happened in-between was an album by album transformation.

On the other side you have Taylor Swift, she writes songs for 13 year old girls, perhaps that's why you adore her so much, you can relate.

As far as listenability goes, they're both awful IMO. Your assessment that Swift is talentless is false, and you have no evidence to back it up.

I can talk **** about all the artist I don't like, but that doesn't take away from their creative process.

I would love to hear what you've written and recorded. Since you've bashed one of today's most successful artists, I'm sure you have some killer stuff.

Any song she's ever recorded is evidence, I don't have to dig deep to find an example.

And success doesn't equate to talent but I suppose you'd like to argue about that as well.

There's a difference between technical and artistic talent. Neither have a lot of technical talent, so if they can achieve this level of success without relying on that alone, they are making up for it big time with artistic talent.

Kanye produces his own music, I'd say he has plenty of "technical" talent.

Swift can 1. play an instrument, and 2. play and sing at the same time. I have been playing guitar for 10 years, singing about 7, and I cannot come close to combining the two.

Ok, Kanye produces his own music, he gets a say in the mixing and mastering. So does every other artist in the world.

To compare Taylor Swift to Kanye West is no different than comparing Rebecca Black to Elvis Presley.

Get real. This argument is silly.

Anyone can strum a few chords. I've been playing for about 15 years.

And no, not every artist produces their own music.

She's not necessarily not talented, but I wouldn't make the leap here man that she is more talented that West.

You're talking about the producer of the Black Album, and numerous other major hip hop albums that change from each production to the next. Meanwhile, Swift has continued to produce the exact same music appealing to the heartbroken sixteen year olds she knows will buy the record.

The point is simple: West continually evolves his music and becomes a better artist, while Swift does not.

Well according to Eddie Van Halen here, West hasn't changed one bit.

Apparently he thinks College Dropout and Yeezus are stylistically similar.

And yet, here to you are posting on VN instead of pumping out gold and platinum albums.

You should open up your CD booklets and see how much of his own music West produces.

I don't know what to tell you, I think she has an average voice and like I said, anyone can learn a few chord progressions.

And I think West's music is shallow and cop-out minimalist, and his lyrics are absolutely terrible. Does that take any of his talent away? NO!

Listen man, to argue against someone's point by stating that they haven't produce anything is silly.

It's like saying I can't comment on a movie because I haven't been a director.

Says the guy who plays free shows at ****holes like the Longbranch.

Of course Kanye collaborates with other producers, Daft Punk has had a huge influence on him, especially of late, that doesn't mean that the music isn't his vision.

I'm not saying anyone's opinion is invalid, but it's obvious that unfair generalizations are being made.

If being able to play guitar and sing means you have no talent, I guest the Beatles were terrible too, huh? All they did were simple chord progressions, and wrote lyrics to appeal to the teeny bopper demographic.

Sounds absurd, right? There's so much more to it.
