Yes, It Was a Coup Attempt. Here’s Why.

I'm not saying that everything in your post is wrong, but much of it does not make sense. I'll answer your question about me, since you try to make my understanding of history the issue. I understand fairly well how the Nazis came to power in Germany. I've studied that at upper graduate levels and independent readings for much of my life, so we can discuss that if you want. I can also tell you that all of my ancestors in the Civil War were in the CSA Army, so I am not some yankee liberal spouting mindless self righteousness. And yes, I do have a clue how actions produce reactions. As for being clueless, I think there are a lot of people in our country right now who are acting without concern for the consequences of their actions. You want to talk about removing Confederate monuments, but the topic is more rightly the attempted removal of our Constitution by right wing mobs incited by right wing politicians and media. THEY are the real and present threat to our freedom in this country. There can be no doubt that they are spreading sedition and inciting insurrection. Calling themselves patriots does not change what they are doing.

You are Black and had ancestors in the CSA Army? Interesting...

Are you trying to suggest I don't work because I'm Black?

Actually, one example is a number of Nathan Bedford Forrest's personal body guard were his former slaves. If I recall correctly, only one went awol during the War.

Lordy that is a Bridge Too Far for him..

But even if he makes it, it is..

The double speak is horrific. The "Patriots" are actually the ones who want to destroy the Constitution and the country.

This is getting very eerily close to the French Revolution. The guillotine was created by a Dr. for humane defense of the republic.

The gulf is obviously wider than we ever imagined. You clowns can't keep up with who is on which side. No amount of crayons and pictures can help with your kind of delusion. Either that, or you just plain cannot read.

I've compared this to the French revolution on here a couple times. All it takes is for the moderate voters to feel betrayed and the media, tech, politicians, other elites are in danger to complete the analogy. Inflation may be what pushes that over the cliff.

Have you read anything on the cause of the FR?

Historians generally view the underlying causes of the French Revolution as driven by the failure of the Ancien Régime to respond to increasing socialand economic inequality. Rapid population growth and restrictions caused by the inability to adequately finance government debt resulted in economic depression, unemployment and high food prices.[6] Combined with a regressive tax system and resistance to reform by the ruling elite, the result was a crisis Louis XVI proved unable to manage.[7][8]

Inflation makes it comparable. Already happening. High taxes for middle class(alleged from Biden admin) plus inflation (grocery bill that cost $70 a year ago is now some how $110 for us). Perplexing. Property values are really high but is there enough money to support it in the middle class range? Market hopefully fixes it but it's still going up. It's been to my benefit for four properties now but there should be a breaking point. If the breaking point is harsh then middle and low vs elite is there based on social and economic differences.

I think we have a significant amount of history to review to see some comparisons that should slow us down to rethink the current trajectory.

What is your definition of the middle class?

Depending on where in the country but a family income of between $150 and $400K on average.

$150K is a stretch for middle class in Chattanooga/Knoxville. Income and socioeconomic status can be difficult to compare but I don't
think $150K is middle class. I understand these are averages but an argument that the middle class makes 3 times the average.

Tennessee(entire state)
Income
$56,071 +/- $658
Median household income in Tennessee

Hamilton County
Income
$55,070 +/- $1,142
Median household income in Hamilton County, Tennessee

Knox County
Income
$57,470 +/- $789
Median household income in Knox County, Tennessee

$50k per year for a family is not middle class anywhere. If you qualify for any type of .gov assistance you are not middle class.

Your range was 150k - 400k

I was just trying to understand

Where does someone live in this range?

I was saying it depends on the cost of living in the area a lives. $150 for a family of 4 in San Francisco is probably in the working poor category but in Knoxville it’s solid MC.
