Z-Nation on SyFy

The type of make up they're doing on Face Off might not be as prevalent as it used to be but for me it's interesting to not only watch them put the characters together but to ultimately see that end result.

To me, it looks like they're trying too hard to be Guillermo del Toro.

I wanted to be a special effects guy when I was young. Its pretty cool stuff.

You have to admit though, if one of these artists offered to hook you up on Halloween you wouldn't turn them down.

I can't say I had the same aspirations but I'm a fan of movies, and tv so I can appreciate what they're doing. What would be confusing is that each judge has a different take on how things should be done so at the end of the day how do you know which technique is correct and which isn't?

I've watched the first 3 episodes, please tell me it gets better.

It's produced by The Asylum, it's not supposed to get better. Even Uwe Boll's crap would say that this is crap.

Still, it's like watching an episode of "World's Dumbest...." on TruTV, you keep watching just to see how bad it gets.

I thought it got better, never really good, but the final couple episodes were pretty solid. IMO

Dude, that semi talking mutant freak in that last episode though! I was very impressed with the quality of that effect on this show. They'd have never put anything like that on TWD.

Its last couple episodes >>>TWD last couple. I actually really liked its finale.

As slow and sometimes silly TWD has been, at no point would I ever say ZN >>> TWD; unless we're talking from a "so awful it's great" type situation.

Yeah he was really well done, I was impressed as well. It was very unZNation like.

As much as I like a good storyline, and acting, I want to be entertained. For me I was more entertained by ZN than TWD the last couple episodes. Honestly I'm not even really looking forward to Sunday. I'll always watch but its not must see TV for me now. Hopefully they fix that this season.

I doubt it; they really have little reason to change. The ratings for Sunday's episode will likely break their own record for viewers again. The show is bigger than the actual show itself now, if that makes sense.

I'll give it another few episodes. I like the apocalyptical end of world survivor genre. I was just disappointed in the first 3.

A few things get ironed out in the first handful of episodes, after that it seems to get into a groove.

Well, I have to admit, things did get better. I thought the meth zombies and viagra zombies were a tad stupid (they're dead, so there's no blood circulation, right?). the episode where Citizen Z is hallucinating the Russian cosmonaut because the air system in the bunker is failing was pretty good. The last episode is puzzling, though. It leaves the viewer hanging as to what is going on with Murphy, but with nuclear missiles about to rain down on everybody, how do you continue?

All the episodes you just mentioned were pretty good. The meth and viagra zombies you just take at face value, don't think about it too much and it's silly fun.

What did you think about the mutant guy on that last episode?

You mean the lab tech that had been given the vaccine?

If so, it was a nice touch and it gave Murphy some sense of where he is heading (assuming the nukes don't kill them all).

Repeat to yourself it's just a show, you should really just relax!

Anyone who gets that reference you're an awesome person.
