Zach Rogers

Your forgetting something. He has to tackle. This isn't the Pac-10. I can see it now Julio Jones stiff arms him and then outruns him to the endzone.:eek:lol:

He's good enough to make a tackle on the guy in your avatar, which I saw him do in a state championship game a few years back. Not saying this makes him Steve Atwater or anything, but it is a little ironic.

from a well respected poster.

Zach Rogers...i think people are forgetting about this kid because he is Austin's brother. I just posted this one the mainboard, but Zach is one of the 5 fastest recruits in the country this year. Fastest white guy i have ever seen on rivals. He ran the 200m dash in 21.48 as a junior, which is only .08 slower than Jeff Demps did as a senior. He outran Branden Smith by .11 at the Atlanta combine, and Smith is rated by Rivals as the fastest DB in country. None of the times were fast in Atlanta because it was a slow track, but he outran everybody including Smith. If he had done the 40 on one of these hand timed fast tracks that a lot of the other kids with good 40 times have, he would have a sub 4.4 time no doubt, possibly even low 4.3's. Rogers is for real. He is polished too. I dont think there are too many WR's that are more ready to play as Freshman than rogers. Maybe 10 or so. If he puts on a little bit of weight i think you will see him on the field. Crazy fast.

Not possible. Lockdown has used his self-made extensive talent evaluation process (that is foolproof) and determined that Rogers is garbage and not fast. Dont be coming on here talking about facts like him out running so-and-so at these combines. Thats foolishness. Lockdown says he cant get open in the SEC and that is the spoken truth.

We'll see. I cheer for every vol. If he's as good as Cooper Riley for Florida would love to have him but he better not be as bad as his brother.

You are very hard to imress peay.

Sorry. He could help a little....but not someone that is going to be a difference maker. One thing I do like about him is that he will do what ever it takes to win. You are only as good good as the last player on your team (not that he would be)!

I never said I would not want him, I just don't think he is GREAT! He is solid ...and could help. just not worth the hype. Very glad to have him though! Just don't expect ALL-SEC stuff!

My opinion of him is that he will help the team. As you said not a game breaker though. He was not a dominant player on the field in high school. he was probably the best player at most times, he just didn't blow you away.

He does have good speed, the type you need in the SEC. He has good instinct with the ball as well. His tackling needs work if he is going to play defense.

what is the hatefest with the rogers kid. half of you post that we need to keep our in-state talent at home, and here we are these poor kids take a beting. neither one of the are all world and austin has had some bonehead plays, but jeez they seem to put forth good effort and they are native sons take it easy on them.
fwiw - i found the clausens to be much more annoying than these two.

Also probably led the team in drops and anticlutchness. It seemed like every 3rd down he dropped a pass.

Well, I remember a lot of drops by our other receivers. Secondly, I dont remember many other receivers tough enought to go over the middle. You would get gator arms and probably drop a few if you went across the middle too.
