But today is most assuredly a strike out. Make no mistake about it. Of course we'll give Pruitt and staff a year but if we're going to use that as a measuring stick, it better be top 5 because Butch managed that even after a 5-7 bowl-less year.

And for the record, my ceiling for this program is a national championship and that should be attainable in 4 years. Not given, but attainable. Not sure about everybody else. And it is absolute science you have to recruit at a certain level to do it. And if you have a dud like this year, it sets you back.

People aren't going to like this. But you hit the nail on the head. This was the worst finish/signing day that we've had in quite some time. ITS is a great example. By his own words, this kid WANTED to get out of state. If we are basically the only option to do so, and he ends up staying home, that's an indictment on where we're at. There are plenty of reasons why. Plenty of excuses. But at the end of the day, this was not good.

Who is to say we don't get this guy. Our bagmen missed on all the other 4 and 5 star recruits we were looking at, so maybe they'll compile something together and give him an offer he can't refuse......

Pruitt telling us about the recruits makes me think ITS isn’t coming. Oh well... 20 signed his year.

Even if we do sub par on recruiting every year, I want to win games that we should. Butch lost pivotal games every year to lesser teams or teams that we were beating handily and he just decided to shut down the offense.

Even if we managed to pull a Top 5 class and Butch was still our HC, would anyone really be excited right now considering his inability to develop talent?

This signing day should not be an indication on how well of a recruiter Pruitt is.

He’s not been on the job long.

No doubt, next year HAS to be better. At the very least a top 10 class. But you can't compare what Butch did to what Pruitt is facing. Totally different landscapes.

Biggest thing we as fans need to see is players actually improving. Haven't seen that in a long time.

Yep. With the Garland signing, I think that's a wrap on our day. ITS is going to the trojans. Gonna focus on hoops and spring ball. Hopefully, we can make 6 wins and get a bowl next year.

In reality nobody for sure knows how this class will actually end up producing on the field. Yeah the stars are a guide, by after the top 4 or 5 classes the next 15-20 are usually fairly close in talent dependent on the needs they are recuiting. And then there is one more thing that is almost exclusively overlooked by folks that are ready to proclaim a class a bust. And that is the ability of the staff to develop the talent they have acquired. There are many 3 and 4 star players that go out and excel at the highest levels. It's like a 4 rounder that ends up being a hall of famer. It happens. I have confidence this staff can coach players up, that is the most important thing. If he does that, I have no worries about our next signing class. This class has some talent and potential. GBO!!!!!

It's yet to be determined, let's be honest. Good coaching goes a long way, we will find out about this class once they hit the field. I have seen many a highly praised class go belly up and underated ones thrive. We have a solid class, I stand by that. GBO!

Considering the circumstances it is a good class. Damn people can we give a coaching staff we were excited about when they were hired a full recruiting cycle before we sound like spoiled brats that didn't get what they wanted. I swear I think for all the good our fan base is capable of we sure try to make things harder than they have to be with all the negative talk constantly.I can't be the only one who reads these sites and thinks "what a bunch of fair weather fans"
