I can't believe people would even suggest the Berry walk-on nonsense. At first I thought it was a joke.
If CBJ is in a numbers crunch, he needs to make room in other ways.
Somebody fessed up recently to starting this bull****. He was actually quite remorseful for the trouble he caused. Personally, I think he should be dropkicked in the plums. Besides being ludicrous, this topic has been beat to death.
Sorry, we'll be sure to run discussion topics by you from now on.
First time in the history of the program an alum could buy two extra scholarships legally for his alma mater if he wanted to. Seems worth a little wishful thinking to me.

You don't have to be all butt hurt because the idea is stupid and many of us have pointed it out. Rich people have highly recruited football players as kids all the time and guess what? They don't pay for their way because it's an incredibly stupid idea. Sorry.
It's been about a two week mission for him to point out how stupid he thinks it is .
We get it. All the regulars here have weighed in their opinions why can't we move on.
I ran out of juice for this one last week.
I've tried to not post about this stupidity, but here we go.
The whole idea of Evan and Elliott not getting a full scholarship (which they rightfully deserve) is completely asinine.
Imagine if you were Evan and Elliott and instead of being labeled "part of the 2014" class.... They are just walk ons.
I get the numbers issue, but this is not the way to go about it. Offering or suggesting that these guys walk on is exactly how you lose them.
Hubbs laughed when somebody asked him about the Berrys walking on. It's so dumb to discuss. I personally feel bad for Evan and Elliott having to deal with this bs. They deserve a full ride to UT. They deserve to feel like Vic and TK and Hurd, not like Bryson Durden (no disrespect to him).
We offer these guys a walk on, and ironically they walk away period.
Not at all really.
Nobody suggested they be "offered" a walk on or that they didn't deserve a scholarship.
Oh but their brother should pony up and pay for 4-5 years.
It's not fair to them. I don't want to use their older brother to spend possibly hundreds of thousands on them.
SN: please don't quote me. I'm done with this conversation. It's not happening, so why bother dreaming about a fantasy. Good day

Just stop trying man. Some people get an idea in their head and no amount of reason will get it out. They're convinced everyone who likes the idea of EB buying UT 2 extra schollies is an idiot, and no rational thought is going to change that.
Seems like it. Not everyone appreciates your opinions all the time, but the decent humans don't go attacking them and berating you for having them. Not sure why you care so much that some people want to do some wishful thinking on VN, you of all people. If people like you hadn't blown a head gasket over it, the discussion would have died long ago.
I care so much because it's an embarrassing discussion. Recruits read their threads all the time. I don't think the Berry twins need to get on VN to find a bunch of folks discussing how their brother should/would/could/might pay for their way so they could walk on and use the scholarships on other recruits.
Evan and Elliott are very good FB players and have earned the right to be on scholarship to many BCS schools. It's a slap in their face, a slap in Eric's face, a slap in every Vol fans face to even discuss this nonsense, IMO. And if you guys continue to bring it up, I'll continue to give my opinion. :hi:
Why isnt there more discussion of them paying for 1 semester??
I keep seeing the 200-300k number thrown around. In reality if this happened if would be. 35k for the fall and they would be on scholarship in the spring.
