’14 GA ATH Elliott Berry (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Please stop with the Berry's aren't that good stuff! Not one person on this site can predict how any of these kids will turn out.

Every year there are 5 star kids that never make a impact on a college team and 3 stars that are putting up HOF stats in the NFL.

Just be proud that they want to carry on the big orange tradition. This program is in good hands and we should feel fortunate that the twins or any of the legacies, for that matter, are even considering us after the last 4 years.

I think the Berrys are in the top 30(if we were starting from 0) but I also don't know how many casualties we might have. So if we really do only have 3 spots no one here can convince we don't had bigger needs.

So where does the "gets it" crowd stop with the favoritism. Will they then Suggest the Berrys play over better players on the roster like they are suggesting they are takes over bigger needs???

The problem I have right now is taking all these athletes and projecting them to play offense. That's Vic, Creamer, Booth, Pearson, and Malone we are wanting at WR? That's not counting that some people think Evan can play WR too, and I even seen Elliott mentioned as a H-back prospect. That's just stupid to take all these guys and expect there not to be roster casualties down the road. This isn't even including you are taking all these guys on and passing on needs at RB/DT/CB/OT/MLB. Something has to give. Personally I felt Creamer would be a TE prospect or SLB prospect, and that Evan was a CB and Elliott was a OLB/S. No way all these guys will play on offense.

These idiots have never watched them play and just saying it because analyst say they won't be as good as Eric. Eric is one of greatest ever. You can't compare to him. You compare to other athletes. These boys are good you take them.

The thing I havnt seen discussed(I am sure it has been) is has there ever been any talk of the 2 splitting up???

Any chance we get only 1??

Quotes from the twins said they are going to the same school. They are basically only being recruited by 1 school. 1 school is recruiting them as hard as any other recruit they are recruiting. I will let you guess which school that is lol. :)

Man, I never thought having the "Are the Berry's a take?" topic come back up would be such a relaxing change of pace.

Y'all got to stop with the "Berry's".

They are the Berry twins or the Berrys.

That can be Eric Berry's number. But not the Berry's. They apostrophe shows possession of something.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Edit: I couldn't think of a proper way in which Berrys' would apply, not worth that much effort...

How bout Berries?

Looks like my biggest accomplishment of the day on this board is getting us onto an actual relevant topic with the Berrys as opposed to the ridiculous tuition topic. Big props to Bruin for willing to engage and take up an unpopular position.

I am afraid some people misunderstand my stance.

My stance isn't saying they aren't talented or won't be good players. I am only saying if they havnt committed yet silently we have bigger needs than what they offer with limited spots.

Filling those needs are more important than winning a PR contest. CBJ is already winning that one going away!

I believe you also feel if they are silents that we have accepted some other commitments prematurely, correct? I honesty can't decide if I agree with that stance. Guess it depends on whether I decide to think emotionally or logically.

This is my stance as well. I fully expect the Berrys will be very talented football players. I just really do not understand why they are waiting to commit.

Yes I think they are silents,

I don't know enough to comment if we took too many commitments early. It all depends how many casualties we have.

I am dead against telling kids to look around that have taken care of business in the classroom.

I really think we have 5 spots left without telling kids to look around. If that's correct then the 2 Berry kids fit in perfectly IMO.

I'm curious, what if UT has no more space and Garrett and Jackson call and want to commit? Does UT cut ties with two commits to make room for them?

I'm keep waiting for this to get mentioned. There is an almost certainty that we will see more than 2 of the kids in this final class be gone within 2 years. Very likely without any real contribution. By adding the Berry twins you get 2 kids that are very talented and almost zero risk to leave. Barring something wild happening.

I am a hard core loyalty guy in recruiting. I am dead against cutting ties with kids that hold up their end of the bargain socially and in the classroom.

It's my belief kids have their time to jump on board and then you move on as a staff.
