Why do people donate when they don't have to??
For the better good, that's why
I've never said EB would or would not do it. I just raised the question of it being a possibility because Butch is recruiting like he has more spots. Everybody wants to say the numbers will work themselves out, but that's just not true..... people are turned away from every major college program every year because there are simply not enough scholarships. We see it every year...Saban asks guys to greyshirt on NSD, Florida tells a signed guy he didn't get admitted, etc, etc. The numbers just don't add up for Tennessee, even when you figure in attrition.
Maybe Butch is going to tell some guys we have committed...you know what, we can't offer you that scholarship after all. Idk. I hope not, but something has to give. I'm just looking at possible explanations and so far, I've seen nothing that says it's impossible for the Berrys to do this. Unlikely...perhaps. Impossible..no.
We're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of 4-5 years. I seriously doubt Eric would pay that much money and if he did I would worry about his financial sense. NFL=Not For Long and those millions have to last for the next 50-60 years.

Sadly the Berry's probably already know this is being discussed. It's not illegal, has been done before. That is a moot point. Please, please just turn this thread back into an Evan thread and not how he is arriving at his ultimate destination. A destination where he will receive tons of love and support regardless of how he arrives. GBO !!!
Eric Berry is the highest paid safety in the NFL. Take one look at the donations Peyton Manning has made to the university over the years and your case holds no water.
