‘21 GA PF Jabari Smith (Auburn commit)

We can do the morality thing, but Pearl is better. And I love Barnes.
Well, at the risk of making this another Pearl v Barnes discussion, there really is no proof that Pearl is “better”, and even if he is, it isn’t exponentially better.

Think of the two as stocks. You’re willing to risk the known volatility of Pearl‘s lawlessness for the relative safety of Barnes? I’m not. There’s no way I’m taking that risk. This isn’t a question of Coach K v Barnes. The gap, if any, is very narrow.

Auburn had the same amount of Final 4 appearances as Duke this past decade.

Depends on what you mean by better... Pearl wins in head-to-head and up until his one Final Four appearance, he was at most tied with Barnes for post-season success. I think that Barnes wins in player development.

I won't go into comparisons of moral character.

Chandler and Mashack have said they have been trying to get Smith to join their class, numerous times
Honestly, and this'll sound like sour grapes... if he doesn't want to run with this squad, _ him. He'd be the centerpiece on a team with guys that could get him the ball in a spot to do something with it. If he wants to overthink it, as much as it'd suck, go ahead. We'll see ya possibly twice against a filthy, aggressive defense that would suck to go against

Moot tho, cause based off his words from interviews posted here hes a VOL. IMO

I really don’t understand what’s going on here. Rob must know something to be so consistent that he thinks TN leads.but what does he know?

It’s not as if he’s repeating it every 5 minutes, it was earlier this afternoon that he stated it...my guess is that the UT staff hasn’t been told no by Smith, thus they still feel in it and therefore Lewis is kind of holding status quo. He’s said multiple times he doesn’t know what Smith is going to do and also said don’t discount Auburn, I just think he’s kind of in a holding pattern until hearing something.

Yeah, consistently probably wasn’t the best word.

We are recruiting against 3 really dirty programs for this guy. I hope that our bag man is on his A game.

Had to take my like back because I agree with the first sentence but not the second. Cheating is never right regardless of who is doing it. It's the height of hypocrisy and reminds me of people that follow other areas of society and change positions based on who they like as lap dogs.

Talked to a few people today and like others I'm hearing a lot of Auburn chatter right now. I haven't had anyone from the Tennessee side tell me it's over but certainly seems like Auburn is trending.

A bbq? The UT admin were ****ing clowns. Pearl was set up and then they made huge deals out of minor crap that a place like Auburn, Bama or UK would never even care about.
Meh, this has been debated over and over here so many times... but nobody forced Pearl to lie about who was at the cookout, and we have still never heard an explanation for why he thought it was a good idea to call Aaron Craft's dad (where did he think the NCAA's Committee on Infractions got the picture in the first place?) in order to "get the story straight"? Pearl lied, and showed terrible judgment. That is hardly being "set up".

Ehh, sounds like Rob is just holding on, at this point. It appears the deal is probably sealed. Oh well. I guess the silver lining here is that if Smith does choose the G-League route, which he has said is a possibility, it won't sting, and in fact, likely helps us.
