To give him a 6 month head start on learning the system, practicing against college competition, strength training, access to on campus facilities, gelling with teammates, being put on nutritional program etc etc….quite literally no reason not to if it’s a possibility.I just dont understand bringing him in now, unless the plan is to play him.
It is well into the regular season, BUT… he’d be in good form by the time that the NCAAT comes around. It only takes one offensive effort (more accurately a lack of) like yesterday to bring the season to an abrupt end.
I’d also be shocked. Barnes is way too stubborn about having to play defense at a high level before seeing the court.
Also, even if he ends up being a 4 year player, chances are that all 4 years wouldn’t all be at one school.
It would be a very tough adjustment, especially with the schedule the rest of the way. That’s why I would tend to say he doesn’t play, but I’m not the man in charge.I’m definitely not against it. Honestly, I would love to see it happen. We continue to be inconsistent on offense, which has been a common theme under Barnes as we all know. Dillione’s scoring ability would be potentially big for this team. But, like you said, I just can’t see it happening. I don’t think it’s even an idea Barnes is contemplating, but I could be wrong.
Let the kid enjoy his SR year unless youre going to use himTo give him a 6 month head start on learning the system, practicing against college competition, strength training, access to on campus facilities, gelling with teammates, being put on nutritional program etc etc….quite literally no reason not to if it’s a possibility.
Barnes wouldn’t even give B.J. Edwards run at the PG position early in the season against 300+ KenPom level competition because he played bad defense. And, PG is a huge need for this team. I just can’t see Barnes giving Dillione minutes 60% of the way into the season. It’s not the MO we know of Rick.
They didn’t force him to come, it’s what the kid and his family felt was in his best interest…you are aware football players enroll early pretty much all the time right, missing the back half of their senior years? Also, Dilione isn’t at some local high school he grew up with these kids and is gonna miss senior prom with all his buddies and sweetheart, he’s at a basketball factory school.Let the kid enjoy his SR year unless youre going to use him
I saw what you did there with that last part of the post. BTO bringing the high heat. They didn’t force him to come, it’s what the kid and his family felt was in his best interest…you are aware football players enroll early pretty much all the time right, missing the back half of their senior years? Checker’s every post is jabbing that probe trying to get a reaction from posters. He’s very adept at trying to stir it up.You gotta be joking. This is a business for elite level basketball recruits. Potentially getting to the league sooner is worth more to FD than going to his senior prom, I can guarantee that.
Better yet, let the kid enjoy what HE decides to do for himself.
I hope he ditches Barnes for wasting his time. They didn’t force him to come, it’s what the kid and his family felt was in his best interest…you are aware football players enroll early pretty much all the time right, missing the back half of their senior years?
