His name has been sort of mispronounced in his first two years here, with a stronger stress on CO. Even though it's written as Véscovi. His full name being Santiago Véscovi Vannet. I believe our brains usually break down words into syllables based on the loudness of vowels. It's a three syllable name with 3 vowels, E-O-I. So you're going to hear the vowels pretty prominently. If you get a chance to watch the commentators say it again, they place the stress at the end. Even sounded to me like they were saying ves-ska-VEE.
As many times as I listen to Vescovi himself say it in the clip, though, I can only hear ves-CO-vi, not VES-co-vi or ves-co-VI. Do you really hear VES-co-vi in the clip that Unconditional Surrender posted?
He also said Vescovi’s first game was against Missouri where he had 10 turnovers. First of all I’m pretty sure it was LSU, anyone confirm? The main point here is that the key to his first game was 6-7 made 3-pt shots. It was a VERY impressive debut but Frann emphasized the wrong thing about his first game as a Vol….maybe like he might be emphasizing the wrong part of his name.

Football, I could see it. At most, he needed to know 18 or so names for two hours. It's crazy he was so wrong about the pronunciation and continued to be throughout the whole game.He was referring to the people tweeting him about him saying Vescovi’s name wrong, even though he is not. He shouldn’t say that but he did not call Tennessee fans as a whole “idiots”. Let’s try and not be so easily offended
