If you must have an alternate, those Adidas grey jerseys were a really good effort. I felt like Adidas really put in the work on that design;; it felt to me like they cared about doing something great with that look. Those colors also had a fantastic contrast on green turf. Just -- I really appreciated those jerseys. More of those. The Nike design just didn't have the same pop, like they came in after Adidas and knew they couldn't just copy Adidas but at the same time Adidas already got it right so they were stuck with the leftovers. But more of the gray style those Adidas jerseys used please.

Oh and no black except when games fall on October 31st. Black uniforms okay on that day, otherwise no black uniforms as a regular color. Don't @me with that silly graphic showing UT technically wore black back in 1675, I don't care about technicalities or what people thought of sporting fashion back when they still burned people for witchcraft and paid for their football tickets with shillings.

What you might be forgetting about the year the Vols wore that Adidas grey uniform. Yeah, it looked good, but it looked good on about 8 other teams as well.

What? I thought they had already done that. Not sure it was with shoes, but Vols players have sported pink accent items for that. Way I see it, they need to sick to team colors though. Next thing you know, they are wearing special cause shoes for everything. All at the same time.

Nowadays, a joint is something that requires surgery. We can go back to the days when a joint is a honky tonk, or a funny smelling cigarette when they make cut blocks illegal.

It was puppies last time. I mean does it really matter if their shoes don't match the uniform? The black ones don't. :D

Seriously though, I do prefer orange and white shoes. The NBA let's it's players where whatever shoes they want, and it looks wierd. But I'd support it for one game just to see the butthurt.

People take the "traditional" uniform way to seriously. The unis have always changed a bit over time. Now people seem to think the 90s uniform is "traditional". Nevermind that Tennessee was playing football for 100 years before that.

Well, now that Fulmer is out, so will boring uniforms. Hopefully. just as long as we don't go down the path the LA Rams did this year. Next thing you know, we will have players wearing light up shoes like you see 3 year olds wear.

I hope so, on both counts. I am a little worried that CJH and White might go to far with it as they "look to the future". That's why I think throwback alts are a good compromise.

I love it. Our program is a dumpster fire and people are worried about uniforms. Just like the good ole days of derrik Dooley, we are struggling to win 6 games and some idiot is on the radio for 10 minutes pissin and moanin about the stripes on the pants of the uniforms

We've been a dumpster for more than a decade. The off season uniform debate happens every year and is generally the most entertaining thread during the "no football desert". This is Volnation trying to restore a shred of normalcy. It's not like anything we say on here is going to change how next year goes. You do know that, right?

Ah, I don't pay the closest attention to other team's alternates. In that case, burn them to the ground and bury what's left without a trace.

My guess would be Orange and White....I hope they don't go messing with stuff ala Butch Jones...Leave the uni's alone...Use the orange pants on the road now and then and that's about it.

The uniforms they have now are perfect. Iā€™d just prefer they use the white over orange combo on the road and the orange over white combo at home and leave it that way. Own your brand and identity.

Right now, just need to stabilize the situation. Let the kids go who donā€™t want to stay, if we are truly ā€œstudent athleteā€ oriented to rebuild trust. Next 2-3 years will be rough, is what it is.

Hyper color-shifting pearls on the helmets.. Changes color depending on the light.. Use the opponents helmet color in the shift to cause confusion..

If we do black, do musou black.. It absorbs 99.4% of visible light...ask for all night games.. šŸ˜‚

Just kidding.. Stay orange and white! GBO!

DP can say for sure but I think the 2021 uniforms are already ordered and will only reflect changes that might have been requested this past season.

Pretty sure they'll be wondering how many they can fill with a player.

I anticipate a temporary fashion change, with triple stars being "in" for the 2021 season.

I went to my first UT game in 1992, when I was 12. Been a loyal fan for even longer than that. Still, I donā€™t get why so many people get their panties in a wad when the uniforms change. I couldnā€™t care less! As long as orange is the main color, letā€™s ride.

I think we should only use colors that start with the letter "T". Teal. Tangerine. Taupe.

I bet Heupel hasn't given uniform design the first thought. White maybe has for branding purposes. Personally, unless the changes are dramatic, I don't even notice. Players seem to like anything new.
