'09 Josh Nunes - QB, Upland, CA

go ahead and tell me what our record is this year since your are freakin Cleo. i just look forward to having 2 talented QB's coming in and they will compete in two years from now.[/QUOTE

]:lolabove:

I agree, We have 2 Future QB's that are both talented and just because one is from the west coast does not mean he has no heart, that is ridiculous.

I love that people can make talent evaluations based on star ratings and recruiting highlight clips.

If you found out that he liked grits and listened to Lynrd Skynrd, would you feel better about his prospects?

:eek:lol::eek:lol:

and people didn't believe me when I said some it fans don't like qbs that arent from the south.

You didn't hear? Petty is the biggest Lynyrd Skynyrd fan there is...but Nunes loves grits. I say it's a toss up just between that.

you'll always have that geographic issue among some fans at every level of the sport. What do you think some pro fans up in Wisconsin first thought when their team went out to get a qb from the southern part of mississippi?

...Because Bryce Petty is going to beat him out at UT.

Based on watching both of their videos, Petty is hands-down the better QB. You can tell that Petty has "heart" which is not coachable.

Nunes is another West Coast QB that's coming to Knoxville knowing absolutely NOTHING about the culture of the South, what it's like to play football in the South, and the expectations that come with being the QB at TN.

I think Nunes is a fine QB, but I think this Petty guy will beat him out for the starting job once the chips fall where they may.

Petty is just a tougher guy.

Clueless

While I have to say I agree that watching some highlight tapes will show some tendancies I don't think you can make a broad statement over such a snapshot of info. That said I think some members here are being a little harsh in your counter opinions about a fellow nationers opinion. We're just here to discuss and share thoughts, whys there gotta be blood on the floor because you think he's being pre mature or incorrect?

Blood on the floor? Do you think that's just a wee bit dramatic?

You just can't make all those evaluations based on 5 minute video clips and then in the same post go on a tangent about the heritage of a QB mattering and not expect to get challenged on it. There's just too much low hanging fruit there for this crowd. :)

I thought he was wrong...premature too, but some in the thread were treating him like a bammer troll. Yes the use of bllod on the floor was dramatic, but no more over dramatic that the words used by some in this thread to describe their thoughts about his.

petty looks like the tough guy but nunes has the brains and is smooth. Nunes is the guy who can sell that fake and chunk it deep for 6. they are both good players but nunes will be our main man i believe. i wouldnt call josh a weiney though.

I hate this thread. we have 2 good qbs comin in. unfortunatly one will start over the other and thats bad enough in its self. allot will happen this year for everyone and clawsons offense and we as online coaches will be able to read who will do better in it.

Throwing people under the bus is not very smart. Give the guy a chance, he might prove you wrong. Also if I Nunes and read this post I would be concerned about your loyalty to the team and players.

Somebodies been drinking the kool-aid....That long hair doesn't cover up that red neck

He will think about it, but after a one-on-one discussion with Peyton, he will decide to play out his fourth year of eligibility.
I don't know, I mean after shattering every NCAA record in the book, winning a pair of NC's and Heismans what else will he have to play for?

My guess is he will complete his first three years of medical school in an accelerated program offered through ETSU during his fifth year. Pick-up a 3rd Hypesman and a third SEC C-ship. An undefeated UTK will get shafted out of the BCSCG as a three loss ND is pitted against a two loss USC.
