The issue I have with this is that, if we give Hood a 2nd chance, why did we not give Jamar Hornsby a 2nd chance? I understand that the situations were different and Hood's incident was alot longer ago, but a 2nd chance is a 2nd chance.
I live in Kingsport and this was talked about very little after the incident. I know a lady that was one of Daniel's teachers in middle school. She said he was a very bright kid. He was always courteous to others. She was shocked when this came out. I believe what he participated in was very cruel but I do believe he was a lured into the occasion by the older accomplice. We all have skeletons we don't want out. I hope this kid gets the chance to redeem his self. May God be with him.
He had a meeting with Mike Hamilton. There are some people on Daniel's behalf offering testimony or letters on his behalf. Hamilton won't have the final say on this and neither will Kiffin. The University president and admissions people would make the ultimate decision.
Word also is that Auburn is pursuing him as they are woefully thin on the line of scrimmage.
you can take what this poster says to the bankTalked to a very reliable member of the coaching staff during JR Day and he will be a Vol if all the other procedures pan out. With this kid and his past its all a process. There is a little concern about a possible PR hit too so they're trying to make this happen as smooth as possible. I don't post unless it's as solid as a brick of Gold so trust me on this one. Also staff member said everybody else wants Hood to walk on and earn the scholarship, but we're trying to work some things out to get him in and a scholarship.
