I honestly think if he visits he will have a tougher time deciding than most think. UT is an impressive visit and to be coached by O and Monte is tough to turn down.

I'm just saying...

AMP: Powell moving closer to commitment? - Rivals.com Video

New video. He talks about how Florida and USC are the top two right now, but the person interviewing him was the one who brought those two programs up. He was then asked who else he was considering, and his first answer was Tennessee. Pretty much repeated what the quotes others have posted above about the Vols. Also mentioned that UCLA and Cal are still in it. His 5 visits will probably be USC, Fla, Tennessee, UCLA, and Cal.

Personally, I think we will get an official visit. But, I feel like he will wind up at USC when it's all said and done. I hope I'm wrong though!

I actually hope you're right, because if he doesn't go to USC, it likely means he's a Gator. I definitely don't want that...

Wow if we can pull him from USC and UF it would be amazing. You never know what will happen if he takes an official. I just hope we can get him on campus before he decides.

I would love to have this kid but geez how many times did he say "I mean" in that interview? lol. But joking aside Powell looks like a stud DE, coaches would be crazy to put him at TE

Sounds like he already narrowed his choices to UF and USC. He is the top guy on our board he's just a freak. He is probably even ahead of Jeff Luc on our board.

SN100 athlete down to Florida, USC - Brian McLaughlin - The Recruitnik - Sporting News

Embarassing when you link to something that does not say what you recap it as saying.

He is not settled on two schools. He will take officials to TN, USC and UF and he will be one to wait until NSD to see.

Looking at the help we need will make us in the hunt, especially after a great season will improve our position with this young man. Seeing guys who he feels better than like Lathers succeed in the SEC will further give him a desire to work under Monte.

Well we have 2 good ends as well and Dunlap will most likely come out this year and be a top 15 pick. I just said is SOUNDS like he narrowed his list. Im just saying that I think UT is just going to be a hat on his table. It seems from all the interviews and all he has said is that it's going to be a UF USC battle. Has he even visited UT yet? He has come to UF twice this summer (once with his mom) on his own dime.

USC v UF battle for this kid. No question. Especially with another UF DE projected in the first round again this year. Man, Carlos Dunlap is going to be ridiculous this year...

Sounds like it will be very difficult to snag this boy onto our team. I would love to have him, but it just seems highly unlikely that we will get him. We are constantly surprised by the way our staff can recruit so we may very well pick him up in the 11th hour, you never really know

This may have been mentioned already, but did anyone else notice that he's taking his official to UF when we play them? Assuming our D shows up strong against the #1 offense in the nation, that could actually work in our favor if he visits us after...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say we land him on signing day. . .
