What evidence supports this? Nobody at USC was a mobile QB. Jake Heaps, the #1 QB target for us, is not a mobile QB. Mobility is a plus, but I don't feel that it is a deal breaker IMO.
I do not mean ability to run for yards. I mean ability to move around in pocket and rollout to make a pass. And I am a raider fan who has seen his offense plenty. He calls plenty of rollout plays. Now maybe that is cuz the Raiders O-line blew but that is the way he did it in Oakland. Rollouts to the TE or a big WR is a part of his offense. Speedsters to keep safeties honest. And running the ball. Similar to Chaney with Brees he likes a QB who throws from the pocket or on a rollout well. It is not about running for yards. He is not going to run Norm Chows offense from USC if that is what you thought. He has his own style similar to what Chaney did at Purdue but with more running plays.
