Didn't you guys say the exact same thing about Heaps and Scroggins. It may not have been you, but there were many on here saying that if Heaps commits somewhere else, that we offer Scroggins and he will be ours immediately. That was not the case.
To be completely honest the qb recruitment is making me scitzo .

I read on another site from a guy that was at the USC camp that CR cant carry JS's jock strap.
I didn't realize Rettig got an offer from Boston College. Hopefully he will hold out and wait and see what UT is doing.
We are hoping he wants to come here by all reports. But in his last interview I read he said he wanted this to be over and might make a decision very soon and definately before school starts. I think if we fail to offer in the next two weeks he is gone(IMO) maybe we need to offer this week not sure. I mean he is not going to scare Scroggins off. Scroggins believes (rightfully so) right now he is way better based on camps. And Scroggins likely will be better but if Rettig learns how to throw with touch on the shorter passes he will at least be equal to Scroggins despite all the Scroggins hype. He has the Arm Strength and head(as far as IQ) he is missing some fine tuning on style and mentality. He wants to rocket every pass right now. Scroggins does not have a laser arm for those making Peyton Manning comparisons. Maybe in accuracy not in power.
You didn't read that on here.
Sab, have you looked at video of Rettig and broken down his strengths and weaknesses? If so, what do you think?
Rettig isn't hard to figure out
Big arm with a severe lack of accuracy
The problem is going to be that Rettig is going to pick up more offers and if the right one presents itself then he will pull the trigger. I think right now if UT were to offer he would commit on the spot. But will he do that with other schools as well while UT waits on Scroggins.
This is a tricky spot for the coaches to be in.
Honestly when I watch him he looks very uncomfortable and is a bit of a spaz. Uptight, bounces up and down. Very stiff. Rifles the ball. I agree that he needs a lot of polishing. Jesse is much farther along in his development. He looks a lot more confident and he is much smoother

I dont remember any QBs who had success at UT who looked like a spaz in college. Think they called it happy feet. I do not agree with the 3 year assessment. He definitely needs 1 year in college but so did Manning. He has a year to develop in High School. The bouncing thing is normal for a young QB. Scroggins is very smooth would love to have him. I just dont remember a guy who could not throw 15 plus with authority suddenly gaining that ability. I could be wrong not a QB coach.
Strong arm. I mean strong. But he puts way too much on his throws. Doesn't know the meaning of the word touch. He had a bunch of injuries on his team last year. I wonder if any of them were WRs with broken hands.
He is really raw. His mechanics are poor, but he has the frame you look for in a Pro Style passer. I don't see much I like looking at him on film. I think you really have to talk to the kid and figure out if he has the mind to play QB at this level. By no means should this guy be our primary QB in this class. He is at least a RS and 2 years from being able to contribute.
