i watched his highlights and he's by far the best QB i've seen this year, Scroggins is overrated...

Rettig will committ to BC. Unfortunetly, we have been low balling him, and he knows it. He doesn't want to wait for Scroggins to make a decision. He wants to go to a college that has him #1, not #2. Trust me, he is pissed about the JS thing, and will go to BC where he is wanted.

I disagree. Rettig knows this is how recruiting works. UT isn't treating him any different than any other school with the exception of BC. Rettig has had the offer from BC for a while now, and could have committed already if he wanted to. He has much more to think about now, plus he will more than likely be receiving other offers and he knows it. His stock is rising, and there are not that many top QBs left on the board.

Don't get me wrong, I really like CR and I hope I'm wrong. I hope we can land him and JS but I just don't see it. I will try and remain positive.

Chase "JJ" Rettig is going to be a Vol. If he was really that upset with Tennessee, then he'd have just committed to BC yesterday...like he originally wanted.
Scroggins is a long-shot now, but Rettig should be ours to lose.

I agree. Plus, BC has signed 4 quarterbacks since 2007 and they already have one committed for '10.

BC was the kids back up plan. He even said he was only going to commit because that was the best he thought he could get. IMO we will get Rettig. This may open up the JUCO route if we dont land Scroggins/ Burnetti.

Yeah. Brunetti may have already committed elsewhere, but we can still stay on him until the end. I'd like those two battling.

haha. Rettig BC's #1? they had two QB's committed in this class already, before Boisture left and they offered him. he was obviously not their plan A.

Yes, they are still going to look at Cam Newton. Cam is hearing from the coaching staff and is listing us as one of the schools he is looking at. They want to see him some this fall to make sure he's a guy that they want to take.

its funny you should say this after we offer rettig and basically give up hope on scroggins

is he really "by far the best QB"?
i definitely want him on our team, but i think the USC and UT coaches would disagree with you

I am not saying they do not look at film just if rivals or scout has not done the work for them that is about it most of the time. Now there are special coaches who do more like our guys. But Fulmer styled recruiting is normal. They look at the stars then they gauge interest and take the path of least resistance. It is human nature. Most people are lazy period.

Guys unlike that would be the guys at OU. While at Texas they make Fulmer look like a workaholic.

So what did Fulmer do pre-Rivals to evaluate all the UT studs of the 90s?
