'10 CA QB Chase Rettig

So what did Fulmer do pre-Rivals to evaluate all the UT studs of the 90s?

Maybe you should read what I said about Fulmer and crew pre-last decade? As in doing the things that got him where he was. He was a beast.
In this century, he would turn it on every now and then call his network review film but all in all he just started relying on others and they let him down. I mean he was older it takes a lot of energy. Maybe Lazy is harsh but not working with the energy the job requires is accurate.

Chase "JJ" Rettig is going to be a Vol.

BC vs. UT

Staff to help prepare for NFL: UT

Hello, Vol fans. I've seen some exciting games between BC and UT. I wish we played each other every so often.

I've been following the Rettig recruitment because BC really needs a top-notch QB in this class. I thought Boisture was the guy but I should know better than to believe the word of a highly recruited high school athlete.

Rettig may very well end up in Knoxville but he would be right in the thick of the battle for the #1 QB if he were to come to BC. Their roster is filled with unknown and unproven quantities.

I'd also take issue with the above quote. BC historically does a great job preparing players for the NFL. They've had 3 first-round picks in the last 2 drafts.

Good luck to the young man wherever he goes and good luck to the Vols.

looks like a good combo

welcome :hi:

I really look for Rettig to wait until after Scroggins announcement to make his decision. If Scroggins chooses UT, supposedly Rettig is going to get an offer from USC. My guess he sits back and watches what happens. However, if he is not a player that wants to stay in state and is really high on UT, he could go ahead and pull the trigger. I'm not really expecting it though.

I wouldn't commit if I were him until I see where Scroggins is going. Right or wrong, Scroggins is in the pivot seat. If he goes us then Rettig will probably get a call from USC and he might decide to go there. If Scroggins goes to USC, then Rettig can come here and be the man for this class. I'm sure he would prefer not to commit early to UT and then have Scroggins trump him here. I think he'll wait and announce after Scroggins.

So you want to try to argue that BC does a better job of getting it's players to than NFL than UT?

Considering the talent pool at each school I'd say BC is at least as good at coaching its players up to NFL caliber. When was the last time BC had a recruiting class rated higher than UT's?

one things ive noticed and dont understand. everyone, including me, says that JS would be stupid to take the SC offer because hed ride the pine most if not all of his time there. if JS commits to UT, based soley off stars, shown interest, and offers, wouldnt CR be in a worse situation than JS if he went to SC? if we land JS, whats to say we dont land CR too? that, would possibly be the greatest thing every. i might actually cry...

So all other things being equal, you'd choose a less talented team that does a good job of coaching kids into the NFL over a more talented team playing in the best conference that is top 5 in putting players in the NFL?

I really like BC's brand of football. However when NFL scouts evaluate... they like looking at the best against the best. The ACC is still trailing the SEC in that regard.

My point is that BC does a great job of coaching kids into the NFL especially when talent level is taken into account. Lack of great competition didn't prevent Matt Ryan from being drafted #3 overall or being named ROY. He's a perfect example of what I'm talking about, a kid who was not heavily recruited but benefited from very good coaching. If I were a QB I'd be impressed as hell by that but then again maybe I'm just easily impressed.

Didn't you have a different coach then?

That is a possibility. I still think CR holds his decision until JS decides. If JS chooses UT, he may very well decide he'd rather compete with JS at UT from day 1 then with all those other guys at SC.

Does that make him the pivot man?:dunno:

Chase, take the blue pill you wake up and remember nothing. Take the orange pill and you find out just how orange your blood can get.

Are you on medication?

Anyway, give me Rettig, Grayson and Newton for '10. Lamaison for 09 and call it a day.

Rettig will make a decision very soon and I bet it will be good news for the Vols.:)

I think this guys underrated. A little stiff in the pocket, but with the best coaching staff in the NCAA, it can be fixed

few blind side saftey blitzes , with no red jerseys, from EB would fix that, just imo :)

ahh lets not kill or possible QB just yet.

Rettig will committ to BC. Unfortunetly, we have been low balling him, and he knows it. He doesn't want to wait for Scroggins to make a decision. He wants to go to a college that has him #1, not #2. Trust me, he is pissed about the JS thing, and will go to BC where he is wanted.

You sound like you dont want him to come to tennessee or something. Im sure Rettig is excited about his offer and would be honored to play for Tennessee. You should think before you post something like that, Because there's obviously not any truth to it.
