'10 CA QB Chase Rettig

So is there anything on Rettig today? It seems this is a Scroggins day. I wonder how many times this will go back and forth by July 25th?

As I said in the Scroggins thread, Im no longer sweating it. I have every confidence that this staff will reel in JS or Rettig. And Im fine with either one.

Now I want them to set thier sights on Grayson!

IMO it makes sense for both to choose TN over USC....would you rather challenge a guy you have camped with at least twice and feel like you are either above his level or close to his level or sit behind the future #1 pick in the NFL draft in Barkley for 3 years. I would choose challenging the first option...if you lose out you redshirt and start either 1 or 2 years depending if the guy that wins goes pro as junior or sr. Either way odds of them beating each other out are better than Barkley

In Crompton I trust! :birgits_giggle:

I'm actually being serious. I just don't think he was cut out for the spread. It's not like the rest of the offense did anything to help him. They were just as confused as he was. I think he'll do a lot better in a pro style offense. A lot better.

last year was a total meltdown people, but it was due to the "spread" as a lot of you keep saying.tenn, ran a west coast offense last year.the only problem was cpf and his oc-cdc done wrong, was trying to force the whole offense on those boys, when just a little bit at a time thru out the year would have worked a lot better.
just my opinion.:eek:k:

that is disappointing.

I'm not Catholic BUT I've been to South Bend everytime that Tennessee has played up there and every trip has been BY FAR better than any other away game trips I've made. Fans were great. Campus was great. Just a very great atmosphere and fans are jsut outstanding.

I was at BC in 1979 also. Had a fantastic time there as well. After game, we hung around for 3-4 hours (night game) party with BC fans who were also tremendous.

Here are pictures of my 1991 trip to South Bend.

we won so maybe you can enjoy them. :)

What a game. Those pics are awesome.

If I'm Rettig, i STILL take UT. Because regardless of UT or USC, you're still most likely a backup. Even at BC you're a backup. BUT....if the starting guy at USC goes down, you're still not up to bat. But if we land both Rettig and Scroggins, and Scroggins does get the nod, then Rettig is probably the number two, and if Scroggins doesn't pan out or if he's injured, then Rettig gets a nod. Or it could be that Rettig beats Scroggins out for the job. Who knows, if Rettig had a different junior year with better receivers at a better school, we might have been pursuing Rettig first, and Scroggins might have been the one in Rettig's shoes. So, I still think Rettig's best bet is to go to UT.

I wonder what he is trying to say with this diagram????

At least he is talking about Peyton in front of Rettig. That has to be a good thing.

kudos. i agree. if we land JS i simply dont see the logic in CR to go to USC. even if he turns out to be better than JS he will still be in the same boat...sit the bench and watch another 5* recruit or 2 get taken over the next few years and have to outcompete them. it makes more sense for CR to go to BC than USC. if we could get both, awesome! it would be great for those two to push each other over the next 4-5 years.

imagine the recruiting implications if we got both....ooo, im tingling. :) buuutttt im not holding my breath. ive held it long enough for one, i dont need to knock myself out waiting for both.

chase is def 6'3 there. blake bell just looks huge. Good lord, how short is phillip sims. Brunetti is at least 2 inches taller than him there.

I agree Wade...both Brunetti and Sims look tiny compared to the rest. I would def. say Rettig being 6'3 is legit.

The #6 QB is the HI QB Andrew Manley.

Also if you look at Sims his feet his stance is a lot wider than most of the others so he will be a little shorter. I think is definitely taller than Brunetti.

So has anyone got any info on him today? It has been a couple days now since he was offered. Would think if someone spoke to him now we could get a good feel for where he is.

I honestly dont believe Phillip Sims will bea good QB and i would stand by that even if he was committed to us. He is 6' and has self reported to weigh 230. I believe that is overweight and i also do not like his release. And i believe he is awfully ugly.

Dude can't help the card he was dealt at birth. Let's not let outsiders take us Vol fans as a bunch of low-class, Bamer wannabes with statements like that. :stop:
