I guess you haven't done any wrong or stole or even took anything that wasn't yours in your life right. Just a plain ol' Mr. Paul PureBread. From the Holier than Thou University. Get off your high horse
Dude...just because someone doesn't go around stealing stuff doesn't mean they are on a "high horse". If he had only "bought stolen merchandise", he wouldn't have thrown it out the window when the cops came. There are the "get its" and "don't get its"....you and newton obviously fall in the later category. we don't need that kind of stupidity running our offense.
That's a little absurd dont cha think.. To call someone latter just because he is sticking up for a guy who made a stupid mistake..
We took Hood.. Why wouldn't we take Newton?
Cam's talent is certainly there, but you do have to question whether to roll the dice on the "Field General"...it's a critical position, and it would suck big time if he gets here and pulls a D. Morely on us in the middle of the season (grades) or has to be suspended for games. QB is the one position you don't want to have issues with grades and character
I just read one article where Scroggins (post UT camp) that he was going to take until late July to make a decision. I wonder if the staff hasn't silently offered Lamaison (told him to keep things quiet...no public announcement), and having him enroll for the 2nd summer semester. Nobody would recognize the guy, I don't think.
Buying a stolen laptop (that you know is hot) is the same as stealing it yourself. If you don't know it's hot, you aren't going to chuck it. Plus he still isn't owning up to the mistake, and trying to protect the thug he bought it from (if he indeed did not steal it himself). The last thing we need is a QB with character AND grade issues. We can afford to give someone a chance at other positions, but not QB. We have too many good alternatives to take such a gambleIm pretty sure if I bought a stolen laptop I would throw it out the window as well if I heard the cops coming. Maybe not the window but hid it somewhere...but you get my point.
He doesn't have the size, skill set, or potential. Nothing against the guy, this is just the word from QB camps.
I've heard good things from camps. Supposedly he's 6'4 and has a rocket arm. I don't know enough to say anything about his mechanics, accuracy, and decision-making, but it's not like he's completely void of desirable qualities.
He is tall and thin with not much strength. I talked to someone about Rettig that runs QB camps, not the reports, and he said that there is not much there right now. He is not getting MWC offers yet. He would have to hit the weight room and would be a long term project. He would be a QB2 in recruiting, just not the kind of top QB we are looking for this year as a QB1. If we get Scroggins or Brunetti, then we bring someone like him in. Similar prospect to Stephens.
Rettig will be a last ditch effort or a 2nd QB recruit. He is a 3 year project at best. There is a reason he doesn't have offers from even smaller schools. He doesn't have the size, skill set, or potential. Nothing against the guy, this is just the word from QB camps.
