Look at the offers that Colt McCoy or Sam Bradford had too.

I'm not saying this is the norm, but it's not unheard of that good players get lost in the shuffle.

I like Rettig, for sure, but I think Lamaison may fall into this category too.

Rettig will be offered next week, if the coaching staff doesn't get a clear sign from Scroggins this weekend.

Yep...I was thinking the same thing. They're holding their cards close to the vest with these other guys til we have Scroggins on campus for a visit/camp. Doubt they hold the floodgates back much longer. If they are going to bring Lamaison in, they need to do it pretty fast, cause he's ready to enroll in the 2nd summer session, I believe.
Quite possible that they go ahead and offer Rettig, and sign Lamaison (for 09 class)...and still try to reel Scroggins in later on. They can say "Look...we had to get some depth...but we still don't have our marquee QB. That's you, Big Guy!"

Was this guy at the camp this past weekend? And if not, what other QB's were here besides Scroggins?

Chase was at the first camp but I am not sure if he came back for this one. I really don't know what QBs other than Scroggins attended this camp. I would like to know myself.

If QB 1 commits; I expect QB 2 to receive his offer and commit. We are waiting on QB1(Scroggins) out of respect that he is #1 option on board. Then we will take another QB which I assume will be Rettig/Lamaison/Newton

If I were in CLK's shoes, this would be an extremely difficult decision to make if Scroggins does indeed commit to UT. Why? Cause it's picking who your #2 that's going to be tough as nails.

Lamaison can come in and help make up for the 09 class and fill in the vacancy BJ left. But as much as I like Lamaison, I think Rettig has all the potential to be a Hoss at QB. I like Jesse...don't get me wrong; but Rettig has the goods to make it a very heated battle between the two. Not sure that's the case with Lamaison. He helps in the very short term, but would not necessarily help matters in the long run (having to pass on Rettig).

Lamison may be more game ready and mature than Rettig right now. JMO But, on the other hand I feel we still get Newton. Either if we get Scroggins or Rettig, we still go after Newton. It's a likely probability we get him to. He'd like nothing better than to play against UF. That will be his mtivation.

I am not really sure why some are convinced we get Cameron Newton? Are we even recruting him? I keep hearing his name on here but I haven't really seen anywhere that we are even looking at him. I can see Lamaison and Rettig but not really Newton.

Can someone tell me how to pronounce this guys name. Is it RE-tig, Re-dig, REE-tig, or re-TEAGE?

I know dumb question, I just like to know things that don't matter. I think is RE-tig.

At least I know it's Kiffin and Scroggins.:p

Good question but I don't know the answer. Heck, half the time it isn't even spelled right. I believe GVX even had his name as Redding in one article.

If we land Scroggins, it will be awhile before we add another QB IMO. If you think the coaches were selective on their #1 guy, they will be even more so if/when adding a second.

I tend to agree. Not to mention if Rettig really truly is a sleeper prospect, if Scroggins commits Rettig is going to be motivated to go all out this season and see if the buzz picks up and more offers start coming in. If they don't and our staff is still the only ones enamoured with him, then maybe he takes a look at being our #2 QB commit, but I imagine it gets close to the end of the year before we start hearing anything like that.

Do you think they might even wait until a few months before signing day to add #2? This way, most of the good QBs will be committed elsewhere and Scroggins will be less likely to de-commit after they sign #2 and go somewhere else. Do you think that might also be a reason for waiting?

Not for that reason and I'm talking like late October, November before we add another guy.
